Google currently has all hands in honey as it is currently working on Android 13, Pixel 6a, Pixel Notepad foldable device, along with the upcoming Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. The latest report has suggested a few information about the upcoming flagship iteration aka iPhone 7 series that will host a processor codenamed as “Cloudripper” along with a new Samsung modem.

The folks at 9to5Google learned it from a source stating that the upcoming Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will be using a new model codenamed as “g5300b”. Last year when Pixel 6 and 6 Pro arrived, it has an Exynos Modem 5123 codenamed as ”g5123b” which further puts an emphasis that the upcoming modem is an Exynos Modem 5300.

Apart from that, the report adds two new codenames for the devices i.e. “Cheetah” and “Panther” which are highly likely the ones Google is using to denote both Pixel 7 and 7 Pro respectively. Turns out both these codenames are of feline animals whereas Google has resorted to fish and sea form nomenclature for years.

Upcoming flagship phones will arrive with an enhanced Google Tensor GS201 SoC that has been codenamed as Cloudripper. It is a second-generation processor to the first-gen GS101 Google Tensor SoC mounted on the Pixel 6 series. There’s a third device codenamed Ravenclaw which could be a reference to Harry Potter movies although that remains to be seen.

Google usually announces its flagship smartphones in the fall and if that remains the case, we could see both Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro around the same time as last year’s launch. Perhaps, it goes to say that Google is indeed working on its next-gen devices apart from Pixel 6a codenamed as “Bluejay” while the foldable Pixel Notepad has been codenamed as “Pipit”. The specifications for all these models remain shrouded in mystery at least at the time of writing this.
