TL; DR
  • Google has tripled AI Pro plan storage from 2TB to 5TB at no extra cost.
  • The plan stays priced at ₹1,950 monthly, offering significantly more value for existing subscribers.
  • New Gemini features now handle emails, documents, and multi-step tasks across Google’s app ecosystem.

Google just made its 2TB AI Pro plan much harder to ignore. The company has quietly increased the storage from 2TB all the way up to 5TB. You’d think that the increase in included storage would come with an increase in price, right? Well, turns out that’s not the case.

Same Price – Nearly Triple The Storage

The Google AI Pro plan continues to be priced at Rs. 1,950 per month, but now it offers almost triple the storage. All 5TB of storage works seamlessly across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos.

Whether you’re hoarding work documents, backing up wedding videos, or saving every meme your college group sends, there’s enough room for everything. Gemini can even pull context from Gmail and the web directly within its productivity apps, including Drive, Docs, Slides, and Sheets.

It can also proofread your emails before they go out, handy for anyone who’s writing a strong-worded complaint to their bank or broadband service provider.

Is the Google AI Pro worth the hefty subscription price?

At Rs. 1,950 per month, the Google AI Pro plan was never meant for casual users; it still isn’t. However, with all the additional storage, the value adds up quickly. The plan bundles NotebookLM Plus, Google Home Premium, and agentic Chrome browsing with multi-step tasks.

Gemini 3.1 Pro, Deep Research in Gemini, and image, music, and video generation models are also included.

For freelancers, small business owners, and content creators in India who already live inside Google’s ecosystem and have terabytes of data on the cloud, or were about to reach the 2TB storage limit previously included in the plan, the increase in cloud storage space comes as a welcome addition.

Existing subscribers don’t need to do anything to unlock the additional storage. It should automatically reflect in their Google account after the update rolls out to everyone.
