TL;DR
  • Pixel 11 Pro Fold Leak reveals slimmer 10.1mm frame that matches 2026 trends.
  • Tensor G6 fabricated by TSMC, is expected to boost efficiency for AI-heavy tasks.
  • Google refined the design while maintaining familiar aesthetics, prioritizing consistency over radical hardware changes.

Is Google planning a big foldable redesign this year? The first CAD renders of the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold suggest the answer may be no. Leaked images show a design that looks very similar to the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, with only subtle refinements and a slightly thinner body.

That might not be a bad thing, but in a market where rivals like Samsung keep pushing foldable hardware forward, playing it safe carries its own risks.

What the Pixel 11 Pro Fold looks like

The renders shared by OnLeaks reveal a device that is essentially a triple-distilled version of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. We’re looking at the same book-style footprint, the same aggressive corner radii, and a nearly identical internal display layout.

The most obvious visual tweak is to the camera island. Google is reportedly cleaning up the stacked look of the previous generation, opting for a more cohesive pill-shaped housing that integrates the flash and sensors more tightly. It’s a subtle shift toward the design language of the standard Pixel 11 series, signaling that Google wants its foldables to feel like part of the family, not a weird experimental cousin.

A Note on Leaks: These renders are based on CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files typically sent to case manufacturers. While OnLeaks has a near-flawless track record, minor details like textures or exact button placements can shift before the official fall 2026 launch.

The quest for the 10mm mark

The headline change this year isn’t what the phone looks like, but how it feels in your pocket. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold design is reportedly going on a diet:

  • Folded thickness: 10.1mm (down from 10.8mm)
  • Unfolded thickness: 4.8mm (down from 5.2mm)

However, context is everything. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumored to be less than 9mm thick, and brands like Honor have already proven that 9.2mm is possible. Google is improving, but it’s still playing catch-up in the slab-phone feel department.

Tensor G6: The TSMC era continues

After years of thermal throttling and average performance with Samsung-made chips, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold leak also shows the Tensor G6 silicon is expected to be the second generation, built on TSMC’s superior 3nm process.

Withthe G6, Google is expected to optimize the Pixel 11 Pro Fold for efficiency. For a foldable, this is critical. Pushing two screens requires massive overhead; if the G6 can stay cool while handling the inevitable “Gemini 3.0” AI features Google will bake in, it could finally solve the battery anxiety that plagued earlier Folds.

The Camera Problem: Still a “Pro” in name only?

If there is a red flag in these renders, it’s what we don’t see. The camera lenses don’t appear significantly larger, which suggests Google might be sticking with smaller sensors to keep the device thin.

This has been the Pixel Fold’s Achilles’ heel. While the Pixel 11 Pro will likely feature a massive main sensor and a class-leading ultrawide, the Fold has historically used mid-range sensors to save space. If Google wants to charge $1,800 in 2026, it can’t keep asking users to sacrifice photo quality for the sake of a folding screen.
