Two gameplay clips and a full map screenshot from the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI have surfaced online, and this has happened just nine days ahead of the game’s official Netflix preview. What makes this even more noteworthy is that Rockstar Games is actively issuing takedown notices to scrub them from the internet, hinting that they might be official or at least include some final elements.

What The Leaked Footage Actually Shows
The leaked map reveals Leonida as a compressed, rather distorted take on South Florida, with a large Miami-inspired city to the east, open greenery to the north and west, and a Florida Keys-style island chain in the south. The map seems to be marked with indicators ranging from a home icon to an alligator symbol.
One clip follows protagonist Jason at a waterside safehouse matching an official location already shown on Rockstar’s own site. The second clip shows Jason causing a highway collision, killing the other driver with a wrench in a hand-to-hand fight. This also leads the protagonist picking up a two-star wanted level. Per the leaks, the game could feature a morality system as well, similar to what we’ve seen in Red Dead Redemption.

Why This Leak Is Different From 2022
Unlike the massive 2022 leak that dumped early build footage on the internet, the new leak seems to come from someone who’s a big fan of the franchise in my opinion. The leakster is protesting Rockstar’s decision to ship physical copies of GTA VI as just a code in a box rather than a physical disc, alongside wider complaints about digital pre-orders and DLC practices.
