Honor V30, V30 Pro with Android 10, Dual-Mode 5G and Dual Punch Hole Display goes official

The Huawei spin-off has unveiled the Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro in China. The phones are decked with the trend of the hour features like Dual Mode 5G, and Dual Punch Hole Display. If you’re wondering, yes they do ship with Android 10 out of the box. Let’s delve into the rest of the phones’ features.

Honor V30 Pro Specs

Straight out of the bat, the first thing demanding one’s attention would be its Dual Punch Hole display. This IPS LCD panel measures 6.57 inches and has 1080 x 2400 FHD+ resolution. In that camera island, there is a 32-megapixel primary sensor along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor.

Flip to the back, there is a rectangular stack nesting a 40-megapixel main sensor followed by an 8-megapixel telephoto and a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor. By the way, the rear oozes a matte finish, which Honor dubs as “aurora nano texture”.

Honor has stowed in a Kirin 990 chipset, which supports Dual-mode 5G. The internals also includes upto 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 4100mAH battery. This can be refilled using a 40W adapter, 27W wireless charging or reverse wireless charging.

Amongst other specs, you also get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Dual SIMs, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C socket

For the most part, both devices share the same design language and spec sheet. However, there are differences to justify the bifurcation.

Honor has stowed in a slightly larger 4200mAh battery inside the V30. It comes in a 6GB RAM variant but the storage is confined to 128GB storage only. The ultrawide snapper on the V30’s real setup lacks autofocus and the telephoto sensor houses a smaller 8-megapixel sensor. Lastly, the standard model skips the support for bilateral wireless charging that’s present on the Pro variant.

The phones are currently launched in their home market and availability on other markets is not yet revealed. Anyhow, here are the prices –

  • 8GB+ 128GB: CNY 3,899 (around Rs. 39,000)
  • 8GB+ 256GB: CNY 4,199 (about Rs. 42,000)

Honor V30

  • 6GB+ 128GB: CNY 3,299 (about Rs. 33,000)
  • 8GB+ 128GB: CNY 3,699 (around Rs. 37,000)

The first sale of Honor V30 and V30 Pro in China will be on December 5 and December 12 respectively.
