TL;DR

  • Along with the 2024 Collage feature, Instagram has also released a couple of new features to commemorate the New Year celebrations.
  • Although the feature is rolling out, starting today, it might take a couple of days before it is available to every Instagram user.

After popular music streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify released the year-end wrap feature for users, the Meta-owned social media platform Instagram has unveiled a similar feature for its users. Called “2024 Collage,” the feature allows Instagrammers to compile their favorite moments from around the year and create a Story out of it.

How To Create Your 2024 Collage On Instagram?

How To Create Your 2024 Collage On Instagram?
  • First, make sure that you’re using Instagram’s latest version.
  • Open the app and go to the section where you create stories.
  • If the feature is available for you, it will appear as a “2024 Collage” button between the camera and the drafts option.
  • Select the feature and add up to six photos from your smartphone’s gallery. You can also take fresh pictures by tapping the camera icon.
  • Arrange the photos the way you want. While sharing the collage, you can add one of the four new “Add Yours” stickers, encouraging other users to add their year-end stories.
  • Once you’re done with the 2024 Collage, share it as your Instagram story.

New Countdown Text And Secret Phrases Are Also Out

Along with the 2024 Collage feature, Instagram has also released a couple of new features to commemorate the New Year celebrations. For instance, there are a few new Countdown text effects, along with New Year-themed fonts. Further, the platform has released new secret phrases, including “Hello 2025” and “Happy New Year 2025,” which invoke on-screen animations in DMs.

2024 Collage Should Be Available For All Users In A Couple Of Days

It is important to mention here that not all users have immediately gained access to the 2024 recap Instagram feature. Although the feature is rolling out, starting today, it might take a couple of days before it is available to every Instagram user. For those wondering, the feature wasn’t available for us either (I checked on an iPhone 16 running iOS 18.2 and the latest Instagram version on the App Store).

Instagram has also announced that the 2024 Collage feature will only be available through the first week of January 2025. Most recently, the platform also released a feature called Trial Reels, allowing creators and regular users to preview a new reel before they release it publicly for their audience. The feature helps Instagrammers review the edits they’ve applied to a Reel, ensuring everything is in place.
