After a significant gap, Honor returned to the Indian market in September 2023 with Honor 90 5G, with HTech in India, led by CEO Madhav Sheth. HTech is looking to expand the company’s product portfolio in India, releasing a new smartphone and a foldable phone very soon. Here’s what Madhav Sheth said about the company’s plans in a recent interview.

HTech To Release A New Phone By The End Of 2023

HTech’s CEO, Madhav Sheth, said in an interview with Financial Express that Honor will launch its next smartphone in India by the end of this year. Further, Sheth confirmed that the company will bring at least one foldable to the market by the first half of next year. Honor is also looking forward to moving its manufacturing in the country, as it is already in conversation with three partners.

Regarding his switch from Realme to HTech, Sheth says that HTech has extended PSAV’s business to mobile phones, which hardly took two months. This quickened Honor’s comeback in India at a pace that he liked. Sheth says, “It saved me time and expedited my launch, which is why you see, me leaving Realme,” and announcing Honor’s comeback. For the future, HTech will look at shorter and more compliant routes for streamlining launches.

HTech Will Launch Differentiated Smartphones In India

Calling out other companies that have sub-brands and rebrand their products, Sheth says that “they all are surrogate products.” He is talking about how brands like Realme and Oppo often release the same products in different markets with different names. Further, he adds that Honor will become a substantial player in the Indian smartphone industry by the next year. Last but not least, Sheth speaks about how he wants to place Honor as a value brand and not a value-for-money brand.
