The buzz around Huawei P40 series started by the close of 2019. The rumors suggest two phones under the P40 umbrella – Huawei P40 and P40 Pro. The phones are reported to debut in Paris, probably by late march 2020 or even at MWC in February. Much about the phones are still a mystery. However, a couple of renders have bestowed a better idea about the camera arrangement and the overall look of the phones.

The latest renders from reputed leakster Evan Blass attests the Penta camera expectation and a dual punch-hole snapper on the front. He points a remark at the new Ceramic color variant, which is somewhat inspired by Samsung Galaxy S10+.

Huawei P40, P40 Pro Expected Specs

Starting off with the P40 Pro, there’s gonna be 5 cameras, most probably. These will be housed in a rectangle domino-esque hump at the back. As you can see from the render, the camera bump is fairly apparent and is aligned to the left side.

The purported contenders are a Sony IMX686 64MP main one, a 12MP telephoto camera (which is supposed to facilitate up to 10x optical zoom, which would be the best in a smartphone), an ultra-wide snapper, a ToF depth-sensing unit and lastly a macro camera. Ay, there’s an LED flash module too.

Huawei P40 renders

Another leaked render implies a triple camera setup. We presume this to be the base variant, i.e., Huawei P40. Here, besides the main sensor and an ultrawide shooter, the third sensor is said to employ an 80mm telephoto lens with 3x zoom support.

Now, on both renders, a dual-punch hole display can be seen on the front side. The P40 is likely to sport a flat panel that measures 6.1 or 6.2 inches. On the other hand, the Pro might use a 6.5 or 6.7-inch quad-curved display that kicks in a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s easy to guess them being OLED panels with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Face it, there’s a slim chance that Huawei will entertain a 3.5mm jack. It’s not visible in the renders too.

The rumor has it that the P40 would be powered by 5500mAH battery backed by 50W fast charging technology. Kirin 990 series of the chipset is also a no-brainer.

Last but definitely not least, we gotta address the elephant in the room – Software. Lack of Google services might turn off most of the global audience. Huawei CEO has affirmed Android 10-based EMUI 10 paired with Huawei Mobile Services. Sorry, no Google onboard!

Still and all, we still have time unto the launch event or any official announcement. So, it’s better to consume the details with a pinch of salt.
