Huawei India will launch a new Y-series phone in India on January 7. The Huawei Y9 2019, which was first introduced a coupled of months earlier in select markets, is now being teased on the Amazon India website. Huawei has also rolled out press-invites for the launch event.
This phone is expected to be the company’s forerunner in the mid-range segment. Let us take a quick look at a few interesting Huawei Y9 specifications and features.
Huawei Y9 2019 Features
The Huawei Y9 2019 edition will feature a 6.5-inch FullView Display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display has a notch to house the dual front-facing cameras. The phone is encompassed in a 3D arc enclosure with curved edges for better grip.
This mobile is powered by Hisilicone Kirin 710 chipset coupled with Mali – G51MP4 GPU and up to 4GB RAM. The internal storage of the phone is 64GB which can be expanded up to 400GB using an external memory card.
Coming to the photography, this phone features 4AI cameras, of which two are placed on the rear and the other two are placed on the front. We have a 13MP + 2MP dual rear camera setup with f/1.8 aperture. The front camera module comprises of a 16MP + 2MP dual shooter setup with f/2.0 aperture.

It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 and packs a 4000 mAh powerhouse. The display on this phone comes with TÜV Rheinland certification which means that the phone filters out all the harsh blue frequencies thereby protecting your eyes by providing a gentle viewing experience.
The Histen5.0 present on the phone lets you synchronize your phone with your friends’ phones to create a surround music system for parties. The Talkeasy AI capability of the phone picks up the ambient noise from the speaker’s environment and enhances the volume of the audio with NICAM technology to deliver a clear conversation.
The Huawei Y9 2019 will be made available in three colors: Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, and Aurora Purple. There is no word on the pricing of this phone yet, but this will be sold in India as an Amazon exclusive.
