Hyundai, a prominent automobile manufacturer, has unveiled its flagship Ioniq 9 Electric SUV, boasting an impressive range of 620 kilometers and a variety of cutting-edge features. This three-row SUV is positioned within the luxury electric mobility market and is set to launch in Korea and the United States in the first half of 2025. The vehicle will be available in two main trim options: Long Range and Performance.

The interior of the Ioniq 9 Electric SUV showcases a modern cabin design characterized by a dual-tone color scheme. It features a layered dashboard equipped with a curved dual-screen arrangement and stylish air conditioning vents. The four-spoke steering wheel, reminiscent of the Ioniq 5, is accented with a silver finish on the lower spokes. Additionally, the central console includes controls for various terrain and drive modes, as well as electronic parking brakes.
The seats feature leather upholstery and include adjustable headrests for each position. The second row is equipped with captain’s chairs in a 6-seater configuration, which can be rotated 180 degrees when the electric vehicle is stationary. Additionally, a 7-seater variant is offered, which includes a bench seat in the second row. Both the front and second-row seats are electrically adjustable and can be fully reclined, also offering a massage function.
Now, let’s discuss the exterior. The Hyundai Ioniq 9 Electric SUV features a boxy design reminiscent of the recently unveiled Kia EV9. At the front, there is a vertical bonnet topped with a black strip that incorporates an LED light bar composed of multiple pixel-shaped light elements. Flanking the bumper are two headlight units, each equipped with vertically arranged pixel LED components. The lower section of the bumper showcases a silver finish, while the grille is sealed off, accommodating the radar for advanced driver assistance systems in the center.

The Ioniq 9 features a streamlined profile, showcasing body-colored, sleek exterior mirrors equipped with turn indicators, contributing to an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.259 Cd. Customers have the option to choose camera-based outside rearview mirrors as well. The B and C pillars are designed in black, and the vehicle is equipped with flush door handles. Standard 19-inch wheels are provided, with the option to upgrade to 20 or 21 inches. The wheel arches match the body color, and a black strip runs along the length of the vehicle beneath the doors. Additionally, silver roof rails are positioned close to the roof to enhance aerodynamics.
The rear features vertically arranged taillights that incorporate pixel LED elements similar to those found at the front. These taillights are linked by a high-mounted stop lamp positioned above the rear windshield. Additionally, a pixelated rear fog lamp is integrated into the center of the bumper. The lower section of the bumper is finished in black and includes two reflectors on either side.

The extended-range variant of the SUV features a 218hp motor located at the rear, complemented by a 95hp front motor in an all-wheel drive setup. The performance model provides all-wheel drive, resulting in a powerful combined output and remarkable acceleration performance. It offers 620 liters of cargo space, which can be increased to 1323 liters when the third row is folded down.
The vehicle is equipped with a 110.3kWh battery pack, providing an impressive range of up to 620km according to the WLTP cycle. It features a panoramic curved 12-inch display for both infotainment and instrument clusters, along with ambient lighting and multi-zone climate control. An optional 14-speaker Bose sound system is available, and the SUV supports ultra-fast charging, allowing it to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes when using a 250kW charger.
The vehicle is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and a digital antenna, marking a first for Hyundai. Safety features encompass multiple airbags, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and three-point seatbelts for every seat. The Ioniq 9 boasts an impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, with a maximum speed of 200 km/h.
