TL;DR

  • Most recently, we compiled a report about iOS 18.3 and how it wouldn’t include any major Apple Intelligence feature.
  • Even so, Priority Notifications could arrive with a future iOS update.
Siri should also get added support for personal context and deeper app integration, along with on-screen awareness.

Apple introduced the first set of GenAI features with the iOS 18.1 update in October. Those included Writing Tools, improved Siri, and Notification Summaries, among other features. A couple of weeks later, Apple pushed the iOS 18.2 update with more features like Visual Intelligence, ChatGPT integration for Siri, Image Playground, etc. Given that the last two iOS updates brought major AI-based features, iPhone users might expect the same from iOS 18.3.

Priority Notifications Could Be The Next Major Apple Intelligence Addition

Most recently, we compiled a report about iOS 18.3 and how it wouldn’t include any major Apple Intelligence feature. But then, when will the remaining features arrive? According to a report by MacRumors, the Cupertino giant could release at least one more major Apple Intelligence upgrade in 2025. Among the features that could arrive with the update is Priority Notifications, a feature that will filter the important updates from the others and showcase them at the top of the notifications section.

The second major Apple Intelligence update that’s yet to arrive is Siri’s on-screen awareness. With the previous iOS iterations, Apple has already made Siri a better voice assistant. Siri not only understands human language better (it can detect fumbles) but also deploys ChatGPT for complex queries. However, in a future update, Siri will get added support for personal context and deeper app integration.

Siri Is Yet To Gain On-Screen Awareness

iOS 18: Here's When The Remaining Apple Intelligence Features Could Arrive

With on-screen awareness, Siri should be able to do tasks like play/pause a YouTube video, give you more information about the content on the screen (like Visual Intelligence or Circle to Search, but activated via voice), and perform other tasks that were previously impossible. For instance, users should be able to ask Siri to summarize an email or a webpage that’s open on the screen.

With personal context, the assistant should get better at recommendations as well. While these are the major upgrades that are yet to arrive on iPhones, upcoming software updates should also bring a few features for other devices. For instance, macOS hasn’t got the Genmoji feature yet, but that will change with the macOS Sequoia 15.3 update. Similarly, Apple should also release the Memory Movies feature for Macs in a coming update.

Apple Intelligence Will Soon Be Available In Additional Languages

For now, Apple Intelligence is available in a handful of languages, including English (Australia), English (Canada), English (Ireland), English (New Zealand), English (South Africa), English (UK) and English (US). With a little digging, we found out that Apple has already mentioned a future update on a support page.

Apple says that it will add support for additional languages, including Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese, with an update in April 2025. We believe that it could be the iOS 18.4 or iOS 18.5 update that adds support for additional languages.

Since we already know that iOS 18.3 won’t bring any Apple Intelligence upgrades, iOS 18.4 might bring the aforementioned upgrades. However, this is just speculation at the moment, and nothing can be said with certainty.
