iQOO 9T is coming to India on August 2: Here’s everything you need to know

The next flagship from iQOO, the iQOO 9T is coming to India tomorrow, i.e. 2nd August. The smartphone is expected to be one of the most potent flagship devices of 2022 and will be the first one to feature Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Here’s everything one needs to know about iQOO 9T before it launches tomorrow.

iQOO 9T: Price & Availability

The smartphone is launching on 2nd August at 12:00 PM IST. It will come in 2 storage configurations-

  • 8GB RAM+128GB memory- Rs. 49,999
  • 12GB RAM+256GB memory- Rs. 54,999

It is expected to arrive in Alpha and Legend colourways. The company will offer an instant discount of Rs. 4000 on using ICICI Bank cards, which brings the effective price down by Rs. 4000. Exchange bonus of up to Rs. 7000 will also be available iQOO devices and Rs. 5000 for any other device. 12-month no-cost-EMI options are also expected to be available.

iQOO 9T Specs & Features (confirmed & unconfirmed)

iQOO 9T is expected to be the rebranded version of the iQOO 10 that was recently launched in China. So, most of its specs and features can be taken as confirmed, though the final confirmation will be tomorrow when the phone launches.

Design

The iQOO 9T is expected to have a slender design and arrive in 2 colors. The Legend colorway is louder than the Alpha one and looks similar to BMW’s M motorsport division. On the backside, the top half has carbon fiber-like patterns and plays host to the camera housing.

Performance (chipset, os & more)

The iQOO 9T has been confirmed to be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and paired up with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It is expected to have an advanced thermal cooling system and a dedicated chip to increase the frame rate and optimize colours during gaming.

The device will run Android 12-based Origin Ocean custom skin out of the box. It is expected that the company will give 3 years of system updates and 4 years of security patch updates for the iQOO 9T.

Display

The iQOO 9T will feature a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2D flexible E5 panel, HDR 10+, and a peak brightness of 1500 nits. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has a punch hole cutout for the front camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Camera

There is expected to be a triple camera setup at the back of the device. It will include a 50MP main GN5 sensor, a 13MP ultrawide sensor, and a 12MP portrait sensor. There will be a 16MP selfie camera as well. The V1+ chip developed by Vivo and MediaTek is provided to improve the custom image processing.

Battery, charging & more

The iQOO 9T is expected to pack a 4700mAh battery under the hood with 120W fast charging capability. There will be stereo speakers, Hi-Fi audio, and Type-C audio for better sound quality. Connectivity features will include 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB Type-C, and a data transfer cable.

The smartphone will be IP52 rated for splashes and dunks.
