As a successor to the iQoo Z8 from 2023, the iQoo Z9 series could come out in India soon. The lineup will likely consist of two models, including the regular iQoo Z9 and the iQoo Z9x. Most recently, one of these models has surfaced on the popular benchmarking platform Geekbench, revealing some key specifications.

Per the iQoo Z9 5G’s Geekbench listing, the smartphone carries the model number “I2302.” Further, the handset scored 1,186 on the single-core and 2,683 on the multi-core Geekbench 6 test. The model that appeared on the benchmarking site features 8GB of RAM and runs on the latest Android 14.

Apart from the performance scores, the listing suggests that the phone will feature MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. This disputes previous reports that claimed that the handset could feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. Either way, the smartphone will target the mid-range segment with adequate multitasking and casual gaming performance.

MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor

For those catching up, the iQoo Z8 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. Hence, equipping its successor with the Dimensity 7200 SoC could be a downgrade. Nonetheless, the phone was also spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, indicating it could launch in the country soon.

iQoo Z9 Expected Specifications

Compiling information from several reports, the iQoo Z9 could come with a 1.5K OLED screen, a 6,000 mAh battery, and Bluetooth v5.3 for wireless connectivity. It can come out in two models: iQoo Z9 and iQoo Z9x. While the base iQoo Z9 could feature the Dimensity 7200 SoC, the iQoo Z9x could come with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC.

In terms of looks, one model could come with a circular camera module on the rear panel, while the other might feature a square-shaped camera island. However, this remains a conjecture, as the company hasn’t confirmed anything of this sort. More details about the handsets should surface on the internet soon.

Meanwhile, the iQoo Neo 9 Pro is about to launch in India on February 22, 2024. Check out an exclusive camera preview here.
