While Kia has confirmed the Carens Clavis EV, its pricing will be revealed on July 15, 2025. Regarding its price, there is some chatter about the Clavis EV’s base variant starting from Rs. 18 lakhs (ex-showroom). However, we’ll have to wait a few more days to learn more about the vehicle’s cost.
Kia Carens Clavis EV Powertrain
With the teaser video, Kia mentions the claimed range of the Carens Clavis EV. As mentioned in the caption of the Instagram post, the eMPV will provide a claimed range of up to 490 kilometers between charges. However, the range should be around 15 to 20% less than the claimed number (as also seen on other electric vehicles available in the market).
Reports also suggest that the Carens Clavis EV will share its battery packs with the Hyundai Electric. If that happens, we could see the Clavis EV with two battery packs: one with 42 kWh that offers an ARAI range of 390 kilometers and another with 51.4 kWh with a claimed range of up to 473 kilometers.

Given that the vehicle has a lower claimed range on the Creta Electric, it seems that the Carens Clavis EV will feature some sort of optimization or tweak in terms of power that increases the range ever so slightly. For reference, the Creta Electric’s motor produces 171 hp of peak power and 255 Nm of peak torque.

On the inside, the vehicle features a redesigned dashboard with two 12.3-inch screens (one infotainment screen and another instrument cluster).
While the teaser shows the Clavis EV in a seven-seater version, a six-seater version may also be in the works.
