The Carens Clavis EV comes with two battery packs, details of which are provided below.
- The Standard Range variant features a 42 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 404 kilometers between charges.

Kia Carens Clavis EV: Powertrain Details

Both the Clavis EV gets a single-motor setup that powers the front wheels (making it a front-wheel drive).
- The motor on the Standard Range variant produces a peak power of 135 PS and a peak torque of 255 Nm.
- On the other hand, the Extended Range variant produces a slightly higher peak power of 171 PS, but the torque remains unchanged.
The powertrain also features vehicle-to-load, vehicle-to-vehicle, and four-stage regenerative braking capabilities.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: Exterior And Interior

The Carens Clavis EV resembles the ICE version of the vehicle, except for some cosmetic updates to the exterior and interior. For instance, its front fascia features a connected LED light bar that runs between the DRLs on either side. Above the number plate is the charging port (behind a body-colored panel).
The rest of the front bumper, including the blacked-out grille and the silver cladding on the bottom, remains the same. On the side, the EV features body-colored ORVMs, 17-inch aerodynamic rims (which don’t appeal all that much to me), silver roof rails, and a dark cladding toward the bottom.

While the front and the side profiles get some EV-specific changes, the rear bumper of the vehicle looks a lot like the ICE version (with the connected taillamp), except for the EV badge.

On the inside, the vehicle gets a dual-tone finish, a clean dashboard with two screens (one for the instrument cluster and another for infotainment), an ambient light strip that runs across the dashboard’s width, a minimal center console with armrest, and a D-shaped steering wheel (similar to the one on Kia Syros) with controls for media playback.

Additional features include ventilated seats for the front passengers, a wireless charging pad, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, drive modes, two headrests for the second-row passengers, as well as sunshades and a center armrest.

Some key safety-related features include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake (with auto hold), Level 2 ADAS system with features like lane keep, emergency braking, and parking sensors on the front and back. The vehicle also produces artificial engine noise.

Kia Carens Clavis EV: Rivals

For now, the Carens Clavis remains the most affordable three-row, seven-seater EV in India, which leaves it with no direct competition. The BYD eMax 7 is the closest rival, but it starts from Rs. 26.90 lakhs, making it much more expensive than the Clavis EV.
