Lenovo Smart ThinkPad laptops with AI and data privacy features launched in India

Lenovo, the world leader in PCs, has announced new ThinkPad and ThinkCentre business notebooks and PCs for the Indian market. The new ThinkPad series ships with new features that are said to ensure enhanced privacy and data security. Lenovo has also expanded Yoga and IdeaPad series portfolio with 2019 iterations.

The ThinkPad T490 and X390 were the main attraction of ThinkPad series which also adds ThinkPad P43s and ThinkPad P1 Gen 2 mobile workstations to its large portfolio. ThinkCentre Nano, Nano IoT, ThinkVision 43.3-inch P44w ultra-wide dual-display monitor and ThinkSmart Hub 500 were other key business-oriented products that Lenovo introduced for the Indian market.

Lenovo ThinkPad T490

The ThinkPad T490 boasts of a lightweight body with the trademark ThinkPad durability. This business class machine weighs only 1.46Kg and is only 17.9mm thick and has 22 percent slimmer bezels than 2018 edition.

The T490 comes in only 14-inches IPS display but Lenovo offers in up to WQHD resolution and Dolby Vision support. One of the T490 variants come with a low power FHD IPS screen.

The Chinese giant offers the Thinkpad T490 with up to 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors with vPro security built-in. It will be available in integrated Intel Graphics 620 or Nvidia’s dedicated MX 250 graphics card options. The T490 can feature up to 48GB DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB PCIe SSD storage. It is backed by a 50Whr battery which Lenovo claims can last for up to 16 hours on a single charge.

Lenovo had a lot to talk about the security features of this machine. It said that it has a Match-on-Chip fingerprint touch sensor and IR camera which is paired with Microsoft’s Windows Hello feature. The T490 web camera has a cover which Lenovo prefers to address as ThinkShutter. The ThinkPad PrivacyGuard feature cuts down viewing angles which makes it difficult to peep into your screen. It also notifies if someone is shoulder snooping.

Lenovo ThinkPad P43s

The other major highlight Lenovo ThinkPad P43s is one of the smallest and lightest portable workstations in the market today. Lenovo claims that has 100 percent Adobe colour gamut and it supports Dolby Vision HDR technology.
