Earlier this year, Bloomberg’s analyst Mark Gurman predicted the schedule of new Apple products that will feature the M4 family of chips. For now, the vanilla version of the chip is available in Apple’s 2024 iPad Pro, which also features a new Tandem OLED display technology along with the thinnest chassis on an Apple product.

Panel Shipments For The New MacBook Pro Models To Begin In Q3 2024

However, the journalist has mentioned how the chip will expand to other Apple devices, like the MacBooks, iMac, and Mac Mini. Now, another analyst seems to have corroborated the information about the arrival of new MacBook models. According to a tweet by Ross Young (CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants), panel shipments of the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will begin shortly, in the third quarter of this year.

For those catching up, the panel shipments refer to the screen that Apple will feature on these laptops, while shipment could refer to the transportation of the panels from the manufacturer to the assembly line, where the product is put together. Given the timeline of the development, the MacBook Pro models could be on the market by the end of this year.

However, that is the extent of the information that Young provided. Nonetheless, we still have a good idea of what the new MacBook Pro models will offer. For instance, there’ll be a new baseline 14-inch MacBook Pro that will house the vanilla M4 chip. The model will likely ship with two M4 variants, like the 2024 iPad Pro.

Then there will be the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models that will arrive with the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. Along with the MacBook Pro, the Mac Mini will also get the M4 chip this year. However, other devices like the iMac and MacBook Air won’t get an upgrade until next year.
