Mahindra XUV300 Electric spotted on Road; Nexon EV Rival Likely Debut in 2023

The Indian EV space is expanding gradually as both industry and policymakers push for electric cars. Mahindra has been at the forefront in this regard and is now gearing to bring the electric version of its successful XUV300. The alleged electric car has been spotted testing on roads somewhere in Tamil Nadu. With XUV300 Mahindra aims to counter Tata Motors Nexon EV, Hyundai Kona EV, and MG ZS EV.

A pre-production version of Mahindra XUV300 Electric has appeared on Auto Expo 2020 held last year hinting towards its arrival. Now, the spied image shared by Facebook user B Vinubalan confirms the information on eXUV300.

Mahindra XUV300 Electric (eXUV300) Expected Features

The eXUV300 is anticipated to arrive with a 40kWh battery pack with a single electric motor to produce an output of 130 bhp. The electric car will offer a range of up to 300km per charge. The company will follow its own MESMA 350 platform (Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture) to develop the eXUV 300.

As showcased previously, eXUV300 will feature a diamond shape pattern for its headlight with similar fog light. The tail lamp will also sport a similar pattern with blue satin-finished accents on the bumper area for a distinguishing design. The details about the interior and infotainment system are not available at the moment.

Since the Mahindra XUV300 Electric is still in the production plant, the car is expected to debut by the next year in 2023. The company is also expected to bring some more electric vehicles in the future including eKUV100 for the fleet sector.
