On India’s Independence Day, Mahindra has unveiled a whole new series of concept SUVs, a day after launching a limited edition Mahindra BE6. The company has pulled the wraps off four radical new SUV concepts: the Vision T, Vision S, Vision X, and the Vision SXT.
Revealed during Mahindra’s annual event, these concepts preview the next generation of the brand’s most iconic nameplates—Thar, Scorpio, and XUV. They are all built on a new platform called nu_IQ, a modular architecture designed to support both electric (EV) and traditional engine (ICE) powertrains.
Among the cars, the Vision T seems to be an evolution of the ‘Thar.e‘ concept that we first saw in 2023, the Vision SXT seems to have a similar design but in a pickup truck shape. The Vision S will most likely join the Scorpio family based on the name and the front design. The Vision X, on the other hand, is said to be part of the XUV family. Let us take a look at all four cars and everything we know about each of them:
The nu_IQ Platform
Before diving into the cars, the big story is the platform. The nu_IQ architecture is a modular monocoque chassis that will underpin Mahindra’s next wave of SUVs. It’s engineered to be highly capable off-road, even without a traditional ladder-frame chassis, and is designed for vehicles ranging from compact to mid-size.
Mahindra Vision T

The Mahindra Vision T is the concept car associated with the Thar family. As the design suggests, it is the more evolved version of the Thar.E concept that we saw in 2023.
The design is very similar to the Thar.E concept that was first showcased in 2023 with a boxy design and a rugged appeal. The Vision T is designed at Mahindra’s design studios in Mumbai and the UK.
The car, as mentioned above, is based on the new NU_iQ architecture, which is a modular monocoque platform that has been designed for SUVs between 3990mm to 4320 mm. The Vision T is on the longer side of this, with a wheelbase of 2,665 mm.
While Mahindra hasn’t given exact details of the powertrain and the off-road hardware, it is said to come with an LFP battery, similar to the ones that power the BE6 and the Mahindra XEV 9e.
The Mahindra Vision T will have an approach angle of 28 degrees, a departure angle of up to 34.9 degrees, and a breakover angle of up to 34.9 degrees. It will also have a ground clearance of 227 mm and a penta-link rear suspension. The Vision T, like the Vision SXT, will be the most outdoorsy one out of these new Nu_IQ-based SUVs. Mahindra also said it will aim for a 5-star safety rating according to global standards.

Mahindra Vision S

The Vision S concept, like the name suggests, belongs to the Scorpio family. This, however, is a sub-4 metre compact SUV, which means it will compete with the likes of the Maruti Jimny. A tall boxy stance with thick claddings and a massive ground clearance clearly makes the Vision S look off-road ready.
This, like the Vision T, will also come with the new NU_iQ platform, which has an approach angle of 28 degrees, a departure angle of up to 34.9 degrees, and a breakover angle of up to 34.9 degrees.

Mahindra Vision X
The Mahindra Vision X is from the XUV lineage. This also looks like a compact sub-4 meter SUV with a sporty crossover-like design. It looks like it borrows a few design traits from the Mahindra BE6. Which ones, I can’t be sure of.
Black claddings on the sides, squared wheel arches, sharp angles across the car’s body, and flush door handles give this an aggressive look.
This is also built on the same platform but is not as extreme an off-roader as the other three cars unveiled by Mahindra during its Independence Day event.

Mahindra Vision SXT
The Mahindra Vision SXT is probably the most extreme vehicle of the lot. Given that it has all three letters, it takes from all three families of Mahindra cars. The Vision SXT is a pickup truck that is a derivative of the Vision T.
Based on the Thar.e concept, the Vision SXT is an outdoorsy all-terrain pickup truck that is more suited for a Baja rally.

Key Takeaways: What This Means for Mahindra?
While these vehicles are slated for launch starting in 2027, this Independence Day event was really about showcasing the capability and flexibility of the new nu_IQ platform, which is powered by the Snapdragon Automotive suite. Mahindra is sending a clear message: its future SUVs, whether electric or ICE, will be highly capable off-road, even on a modern monocoque chassis.
