Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch CNG variants of its popular Baleno and XL6 in the Indian market. The largest carmaker in the country has a huge CNG car portfolio based on its S-CNG technology. Now, the premium hatchback Baleno and premium MPV XL6 will take the company’s CNG lineup to new heights.

At a time when electric mobility is expanding its outreach in India but insufficient EV infrastructure also creates ample space for CNG vehicles to fill the gap. Taking advantage, Maruti Suzuki is leading the CNG fleet in the country followed by Hyundai and Tata Motors. As of now, Maruti offers CNG variants in its Swift, WagonR, Dzire, Celerio, Alto 800, Alto K10, Eeco, S-Presso, and Ertiga vehicles.

Maruti Baleno & XL6 CNG variants

Maruti Suzuki is all set to equip factory-fitted S-CNG technology for its both Nexa Baleno and XL6 cars. However, the company is prepping to offer the CNG equipment to limited variants where Baleno gets it with Delta and Zeta MT models while XL6 with its Zeta variant only. In the contrast, Baleno’s counterpart Toyota Glanza offers CNG with its three S, G, and V trims.
