MediaTek Dimensity 9500s Official: Specs, Benchmarks, and First Confirmed Phones

MediaTek has officially unveiled the Dimensity 9500s in China, expanding its flagship Dimensity 9000-series portfolio. Launched alongside the Dimensity 8500, the 9500s is positioned as a premium-class platform aimed at high-performance and upper flagship smartphones. 

Built on TSMC’s 3 nm N3E process, MediaTek is clearly pushing the 9500s as a true flagship SoC, with CPU scale, GPU size, cache configuration, and overall die size aligned with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 tier.

Specs

The Dimensity 9500s uses an octa-core CPU configuration with an all-big-core layout. It includes 1x Arm Cortex-X925 core clocked up to 3.73 GHz with 2 MB L2 cache, 3x Cortex-X4 cores with 1 MB L2 cache each, and 4x Cortex-A720 cores with 512 KB L2 cache each. The chip carries 12 MB of shared L3 cache and an additional 10 MB system-level cache.

On the graphics side, the chipset integrates the Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU in a 12-core configuration. Memory support includes LPDDR5X with speeds up to 9600 Mbps, paired with UFS 4.0 storage and MCQ support.

Connectivity features include 5G Release 17 support with Sub-6 GHz bands, dual SIM dual active capability, Wi-Fi 7 with triple-band triple concurrency, peak Wi-Fi speeds up to 6.5 Gbps, and Bluetooth 5.4. Navigation support spans GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC.

Camera and multimedia capabilities include support for up to a 320 MP sensor, 8K60 video capture at 10-bit, and advanced video decode and encode formats. Display support goes up to WQHD+ at 180 Hz, including tri-port MIPI support for tri-fold displays. AI workloads are handled by MediaTek’s latest NPU with generative and agentic AI support.

Early Geekbench 6 results show the Dimensity 9500s scoring 2887 in single-core and 9257 in multi-core tests. For reference, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 scores around 2957 single-core and 10236 multi-core, while Snapdragon 8 Elite reaches roughly 3256 single-core and 10358 multi-core. The Dimensity 9400+ sits at about 2943 single-core and 9210 multi-core. 

These results place the 9500s close to last-generation Dimensity 9400+ and below the 8 Gen 5 and 8 Elite.

Smartphones with the Dimensity 9500s

Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will be powered by the Dimensity 9500s in China. This device is expected to launch globally and in India as the POCO X8 Pro Max. Additional performance-focused and gaming-oriented smartphones from Chinese brands are expected to follow after Q1 2026, using the Dimensity 9500s as a flagship-tier alternative in their lineups.
