vivo X300 FE Review: Big Flagship Features Without the Big Size
#ExpertReview
The vivo X300 FE arrives as the successor to the vivo X200 FE, and the idea is familiar at first glance. A compact flagship that tries to balance size with serious hardware. This time, the positioning feels slightly different. The standard vivo X300 is also compact, which puts the FE in a tighter spot.
What changes here is the approach. The X300 FE borrows heavily from the X300 instead of sitting clearly below it. You get an LTPO panel instead of LTPS, ultrasonic scanner, wireless charging, a Snapdragon chipset replacing MediaTek, and a wider aperture on the main camera.
- Compact flagship form factor with premium build
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 delivers strong performance
- LTPO AMOLED with 120 Hz and high brightness
- Noticeable price increase over previous generation
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the battery last and does it support fast charging?
You get a massive 6,500mAh battery that easily lasts through a full day of heavy use. It supports 90W wired FlashCharge, which gets you back to a full charge very quickly. For those who hate cables, it also supports 40W wireless charging, which is quite rare for an FE model.
What makes the Vivo X300 FE camera special?
The camera system is co-engineered with ZEISS and features a 50MP main sensor along with a 50MP telephoto lens that supports up to 100x zoom. It even supports external ZEISS lens attachments if you want to get serious about mobile photography. The 50MP front camera is also great for high-quality selfies and vlogging.
Is the Vivo X300 FE good for heavy gaming like BGMI or Genshin Impact?
Absolutely, it runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset which is built for high-end performance.
What are the main differences between the Vivo X300 FE and the standard Vivo X300?
The X300 FE actually has a larger 6,500mAh battery compared to the 6,040mAh one on the standard X300. While the standard model uses a MediaTek chip, the FE version uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Interestingly, the FE is slightly more expensive this time because of that upgraded battery and processor.
Is the Vivo X300 FE fully waterproof?
Yes, it comes with both IP68 and IP69 ratings, making it one of the most durable phones against water and dust. This means it can handle being submerged in water and can even withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. It's built to survive accidental drops in the pool or heavy rain.
How many software updates will I get with the Vivo X300 FE?
Vivo has stepped up its game by promising 5 years of major Android OS upgrades and 7 years of security patches. It ships with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 right out of the box. This means your phone will stay updated and secure well into the 2030s.
What is the screen size and is it easy to use with one hand?
It features a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display, which makes it a great choice if you prefer a more compact flagship. It’s very comfortable for one-handed use.
How bright does the display get for outdoor use in India?
The display is incredibly bright, reaching a peak of 5,000 nits, so you won't have any trouble reading texts even under direct summer sunlight. It also features SGS Low Blue Light certification and 2160Hz PWM dimming to keep your eyes comfortable during late-night scrolling.
What comes inside the Vivo X300 FE retail box?
You get the phone itself along with a 90W fast charger and a USB-C cable included in the box. Vivo also includes a color-matched protective case and has a screen protector pre-applied, so you're ready to go from day one. You'll also find the usual SIM ejector tool and documentation.
