TL; DR
- MediaTek has officially announced the Dimensity 7500, built on TSMC’s 4nm process with new Arm C1 Pro and C1 Nano CPU cores, a Mali-G625 MC2 GPU, LPDDR5 RAM support, and UFS 3.1 storage.
- Unlike recent Dimensity 7200, 7300, 7400, and 7450 chips that delivered relatively small improvements, the Dimensity 7500 brings noticeable gains, including up to 30% faster app switching, 19% faster game loading, 40% faster file transfers, and more than 2X AI performance.
- The chipset supports 200MP cameras, 4K 10-bit HDR recording, 144Hz displays, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, Release 17 5G, and is expected to debut in devices such as the upcoming Redmi Note series and vivo V80 series.
MediaTek has officially unveiled the Dimensity 7500, its latest upper mid-range smartphone chipset. While recent launches such as the Dimensity 7200, 7300, 7400, and 7450 brought relatively minor changes between generations, the Dimensity 7500 looks like a much more substantial update.
The chipset uses TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process and introduces a completely new CPU configuration based on Arm’s latest Armv9.3-A architecture. It combines four Arm C1 Pro cores running at up to 2.6 GHz with four Arm C1 Nano cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz. Graphics duties are handled by the Mali-G625 MC2 GPU.
MediaTek has also included support for LPDDR5 memory at speeds up to 6400 Mbps and UFS 3.1 two-lane storage.
Noticeable Performance Improvements

According to MediaTek, the Dimensity 7500 delivers up to 11% faster cold app launches, 11% faster app installations, 30% faster app switching, 19% faster game level loading, 40% faster file transfers, and up to 68% faster video transcoding.
Power efficiency has also improved, with MediaTek claiming 5% to 9% lower power consumption in everyday applications and 4% to 7% lower power usage while gaming.

NPU 850 Brings Over 2X AI Performance

The Dimensity 7500 integrates MediaTek’s new NPU 850, which the company says delivers more than twice the AI performance of the previous generation.
It supports a range of on-device AI workloads, including speech recognition, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, contextual replies, notification summarization, and other generative AI tasks without relying entirely on cloud processing.
Camera and Display Support
The chipset supports camera sensors up to 200MP and uses MediaTek’s Imagiq 1050 image processor. Features include 14-bit DCG support, hardware-based multi-frame noise reduction (MCNR), hardware face detection (HWFD), improved low-light processing, and enhanced color accuracy.
Video recording is supported at up to 4K 30fps in 10-bit HDR using either H.264 or HEVC encoding. Playback support includes H.264, HEVC, VP9, Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10, and HDR10+ formats.
For displays, the Dimensity 7500 can drive a primary panel with resolutions up to 1344 x 2800 at 144Hz, alongside a secondary display up to 1300 x 1200 at 120Hz.

Connectivity Gets a Boost
The Dimensity 7500 supports tri-band Wi-Fi 6E with MediaTek Xtra Range 3.0, Bluetooth 5.4 with Hybrid Coexistence technology, and long-range direct device-to-device communication that MediaTek says can reach kilometer-scale distances in line-of-sight conditions without cellular connectivity.
GNSS support includes GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC. The integrated 3GPP Release 17 modem supports both SA and NSA 5G networks, 5G and 4G carrier aggregation, NR DL 3CC up to 220 MHz bandwidth, 4×4 MIMO, 256QAM uplink support, VoNR, and Smart Network Suite 3.0.
Peak downlink speeds can reach up to 5.2 Gbps. MediaTek has also included features such as High Speed Rail 2.0, which improves network performance on trains by up to 20%, subway and garage recovery mode for 20% faster reconnection after losing signal, and 5G UltraSave 3.0+ technology that can improve 5G power efficiency by up to 20% compared to competing solutions in typical sub-6 GHz networks.
First Dimensity 7500 Phones Expected Soon
The Redmi Note 17 series and the vivo V80 series are expected to be among the first smartphones powered by the Dimensity 7500 (MT6881), though MediaTek has not officially confirmed launch partners yet.
