Motorola Edge+ India Launch Date Announced

After a month-long teasing Motorola Edge+ India launch date has been finally confirmed. The Motorola flagship is all set to debut in India at 12 noon on May 19. The launch details were revealed by Motorola’s e-commerce partner Flipkart. It also means that Motorola Edge+ will retail on Wallmart owned e-commerce platform.

The Edge series is Motorola’s 2020 flagship lineup which was announced on April 22 Globally. Motorola has two versions of it – Edge and Edge+. The Moto Edge+ Motorola’s ultimate flagship with Snapdragon 865 chipset at the heart, a 108MP sensor led triple rear camera setup and a 90Hz curved edges waterfall screen. The vanilla Edge variant is based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765 mobile platform which is expected to debut in India on the same day.

Motorola Edge+ Price in India: Expectations?

The global version of the Motorola Edge+ retails around $1,000 but we expect it to be more competitive in India. With likes of iQOO 3 (review), Realme X50 (review) OnePlus 8 series, Mi 10 all retailing in between Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000, Motorola has its task cut out with regards to Motorola Edge+ pricing. We expect it to be competitive to all these aforementioned 5G phones.

Motorola Edge+ Features

The Motorola Edge+ flaunts a 6.7-inch dual-curved edges screen. It’s an OLED screen running on Full-HD+ resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 Protection on top. Motorola has employed the Snapdragon 865 5G chipset which is paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. It includes a 5,000mAh battery and supports 15W TurboCharge wired and wireless charging.

As we stated above, the Motorola Edge+ houses a 108MP primary sensor which is teamed up with a telephoto sensor for 3x optical zoom and an ultra-wide lens. For Selfies, there’s a 25MP sensor on the front.

The Edge+ runs on Android 10 platform with some of Motorola’s classic add-ons including gestures and new features like Edge interface controls, including Edge gaming and Edge notifications. The phone also includes a 3.5mm slot, in-display fingerprint sensor, splash-resistant coating, and stereo speakers tuned by Waves audio.
