MWC 2022: Realme GT 2 Series launched globally; Ultra-Dart Charging also unveiled

Every February, the mobile technology industry gathers in Barcelona, Spain for the Mobile World Congress (MWC) a trade show that focuses on the latest smartphones and what’s new in networking and infrastructure.

This year MWC will officially run from Feb 28 to March 3 and day 1 has seen some major launches from Realme, which has showcased its much-hyped GT 2 Series at a global level today. Yes, you heard it right Realme GT 2 Series is now launched for Global consumers.

Realme GT 2 Series has already launched in China and after its global announcement today, it will soon come to India as well. With the GT 2 Series, Realme has also launched Realme Book Prime, Air Buds 3, and 150W Ultra Dart Charger.

Realme GT 2 Series Price & Availability

Realme GT 2 Pro will be available in 2 storage variants-

  • 8GB RAM+128GB storage- 649€
  • 12GB RAM+256GB storage- 749€

Realme GT 2 will also be available in 2 storage variants-

  • 8GB RAM+128GB storage- €449
  • 12GB RAM+256GB storage- €599

Both the smartphones will be available in 3 colors- Paper White, Paper Green, and Steel Black.

Realme GT 2 Specs

The Realme GT 2 has a 6.62-inch E4 AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with Adreno 660 GPU. It has up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage and packs a 5000mAh battery under the hood. It comes with 65W fast charging support.

In the camera department, GT 2 has a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro lens. It has a 16MP selfie camera for video calls that are housed in a punch-hole cutout on the front. It runs Android 12 based Realme UI 3.0 custom skin on top. The Realme GT 2 also has an in-screen fingerprint sensor for biometric security.

Realme GT 2 Pro Specs

The Realme GT 2 Pro sports a 6.7-inch 2K Super Reality LTPO AMOLED curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3216×1440 pixel resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and HDR10+ support. It has a 1000Hz touch sampling rate and 1400 nits brightness.

 The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB storage that is expandable via a microSD card. The GT 2 Pro runs on Android 12 based Realme UI 3.0 custom skin out of the box. It comes with Stainless Steel Vapor Cooling System Max, WiFi enhancer, 360-degree NFC, and ultra-wideband antenna switching.

As for camera optics, the smartphone has a triple camera rear setup. The rear setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 40x microscopic lens. It has a 32MP selfie snapper at the front. The GT 2 Pro has dual OIS+EIS stabilization.

The Realme GT 2 Pro has a 5000mAh battery under the hood with 65W SuperDart fast charging support. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor for security too. The Realme GT 2 Pro is 8.18mm thick and weighs 189 grams.

Realme GT 2 Series Design

The Realme GT 2 Series has a Paper Tech Master Design that is engineered in association with Realme Design Studios and Naoto Fukasawa. It is made of Innovative Biopolymer and was subjected to 320+ Rigorous quality tests. The Realme GT 2 smartphones come in eco-friendly packaging and are TCO 9.0 certified. Realmeow Paper will also be available but they are limited edition and can only be won at Realme Pop-up stores.

Both the devices in the GT 2 series will get 3 Android OS updates and 4 years of Android Security Patches.

Realme UltraDart Charging

Realme has also announced its next big innovation in terms of charging speed. It will bring UltraDart Charging that will support charging speeds between 100 to 200W without generating heat. The first device to come with this UltraDart Charging will be Realme GT Neo 3 launching soon that will come with 150W UltraDart Charging. It will charge 50% battery in 5 minutes.

Realme Book Prime

The new Realme Book Prime is powered by Intel 11th Gen Core i5 Processor with up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. It has a backlit keyboard with a large touchpad, up to 12 hours of battery life, stereo sound, and a 2K Full Vision Display. It runs Windows 11 and is equipped with Wi-Fi 6, Thunderbolt 4, and dual-fan VC Liquid Cooling System. It comes in 3 colors- Real Blue, Real Grey, and Real Green and will be available in 2 storage variants-

  • 8GB RAM+512GB storage i5 variant- €999
  • 16GB RAM+512GB storage i5 variant- €1099

Realme Air Buds 3

The newest TWS from Realme comes with a 10mm Dynamic Bass Boost Driver, Dolby Audio, Customised Audio Tuning, and IPX5 rating for sweat and water resistance. It gives 42dB ANC and is TUV Rheinland certified along with having anti-wind technology, transparency mode, dual device connection, and 88ms Super Low Latency. It has a dual-mic noise cancellation for calls and gives 30 hours of playback with the case.

The Realme AirBuds 3 come in 2 colors- Galaxy White and Starry Blue and are priced at €59.
