Amazon’s new Kindle Paperwhite e-reader just went official globally (including the Indian market).  The fourth generation Kindle Paperwhite e-reader is thinner, lighter and, just like Kindle Oasis (review), it too is finally water resistant. That’s not all, it comes with inbuilt Bluetooth and has support for Audible service.

New Kindle Paperwhite Features: What’s New?

Amazon has updated the design of the Kindle Paperwhite and now it appears to have a flush-front with soft material. As for the display, it will ship with a 6-inch e-ink display with 300 PPI. It also includes five LEDs and an adjustable front light. If Amazon claims are anything to go by, the Kindle Paperwhite is slimmer (8.18mm) and lighter (182g).

The new Paperwhite can survive accidental splashes and submersion. Like the Oasis, it also now has IPX8 rating, which means it can withstand water immersion up to two meters for up to 60 minutes. Another upgrade has been made in the storage capacity, which has been almost doubled (Just so you can accommodate audiobooks).

The Kindle Paperwhite 4 is IPX8 rated

The Paperwhite 4 comes in 8GB and 32GB storage options which means you can carry thousands of e-books on your device. It is worth pointing out that the 32GB storage variant comes with 4G support.
