TL; DR
- The company has delayed the Gravite launch to February 17, 2026 (less than a month ahead).
- The car will feature a bold version of the company’s V-Motion grille with honeycomb mesh, slim horizontal LED DRLs, and a revised headlamp cluster.
- While Nissan hasn’t confirmed any powertrain details, the vehicle should share most of its underpinnings with the Renault Triber.
Nissan’s Gravite was about to launch in India on January 21, 2026 (before the new Renault Duster). The sub-4-meter 7-seater MPV is a pivotal model in the automaker’s strategy for its Indian resurgence. The vehicle is expected to be based on the CMF-A+ platform (also used in the Renault Triber), with several Nissan-specific tweaks.
Nissan Gravite Gets A New Launch Date
The company has delayed the Gravite launch to February 17, 2026 (less than a month ahead). If that happens, I’ll expect the car to reach showrooms by the end of the month or in the beginning of March 2026, and the deliveries to begin by mid or late March 2026. Bookings of the car should begin with the official launch.
For those catching up, Gravite is an affordable, practical daily commuter targeting urban and semi-urban families with more than five people. Based on the Triber, which prioritizes seating capacity over performance, the Gravite will position itself as a low-cost alternative to the Ertiga, Rumion, and Kia Carens.

Nissan Gravite: Everything We Know
Design
Given that Nissan has uploaded several teasers of the Gravite, we know a fair bit about the MPV’s design. For instance, the car will feature a bold version of the company’s V-Motion grille with honeycomb mesh, slim horizontal LED DRLs, and a revised headlamp cluster.
The car also includes prominent “GRAVITE” lettering on the edge of the bonnet and the lower end of the tailgate. Other design-related elements include a muscular front bonnet, revised front and rear bumpers with chunky skid plates, and unique two-tone alloy wheels on the higher trims.
Headlined by a signature teal shade, the Gravite should also be available in white, silver, black, and gray colors.

Powertrain (Expected)
While Nissan hasn’t confirmed any powertrain details, the vehicle should share most of its underpinnings with the Renault Triber.
It should come with the 1.0-liter three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 72 PS of peak power and 96 Nm of peak torque (and feels terribly underpowered on the Triber, especially under full load).
The engine should be mated to a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT transmission. While the chances of Nissan equipping the car with the 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine are quite slim, I’d still remain optimistic.
Interiors (Expected)
Inside the car, owners should get an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 7-inch digital instruments cluser and wireless phone charging.
Like the Triber, the Gravite should also feature a foldable third row to increase boot space. Furthermore, the 2026 car should offer six airbags as standard across all variants.

Nissan Gravite: Pricing
If I am to speculate, the Nissan Gravite should be priced between Rs. 6 lakhs and Rs. 9 lakhs for the entry-level to mid-range variants. The top-end variant could break the Rs. mark. 10 lakh (on-road) mark. Expect the car to mirror Renault Triber’s prices very closely.
