The Nothing Phone (2), Nothing’s second smartphone launch is just around the corner. According to an official release, the Nothing Phone (2) will debut on July 11. Before the release of the Nothing Phone (2), Nothing recently disclosed the phone will come with their Nothing OS 2.0 custom software which is also going to land on Nothing Phone (1) via an OTA update.

Nothing OS 2.0 Features

The Nothing OS 2.0 for the Nothing Phone (1) will arrive before the end of August, according to Carl Pei, who made the news official via a social post. Pai also mentioned how crucial software support is for Nothing. The company has previously said that the Nothing Phone (2) and Nothing OS 2.0 would be introduced in July.

Carl did not mention whether this was the beta rollout or stable distribution schedule for Nothing Phone (1) Nothing OS 2.0. For those who don’t know, the Nothing Phone (1) was introduced in December 2022 with the Nothing OS 1.0, based on Android 13. On the other hand, Nothing OS 1.5 for the Nothing Phone (1) was released in February.

Nothing Phone 1

The stable version should be available by October if Nothing announces the Nothing OS 2.0 Beta upgrade for the Nothing Phone (1) in August. The forthcoming Nothing OS 2.0 is still a mystery, but the company has just disclosed that the project’s development team is made up of roughly one hundred individuals.

However, the software development team that developed Nothing OS 1.5 for the Nothing phone was comprised of just five individuals. With Nothing OS 2.0, the company plans to virtually completely redo everything with a concentration on functional aesthetics. It’s unclear which version of Android, 14, or 13, will be used for the impending Nothing OS 2.0. For additional information on Nothing OS 2.0, we will need to wait a few more weeks.

The Nothing Phone 1 has a 6.55-inch OLED Display with Full HD+ (2400 × 1080 pixel) resolution, 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate, 120Hz Refresh Rate, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ with Adreno 642L GPU. It also came up with 50 megapixels dual primary camera and a 16-megapixel front camera.
