TL; DR
- The Nothing Ear (Open) are company’s very ifrst pair of Open-design TWS buds.
- The buds are set to launch on September 24th globally.
- These come with a familiar design, 30 hour battery life, ChatGPT support and more.
Nothing is all set to launch its newest product today, and hours before the official launch, a set of renders has spoiled the surprise. Renders by Winfuture have revealed the design of the Nothing Ear (Open), the company’s latest TWS earbuds.
The Nothing Ear (Open) sport a design that’s not unusual for the open-ear category. They feature a regular TWS earbud design with a wraparound band that likely fits behind the ear. The buds pack 14.2mm drivers on each side. These titanium-coated polyethylene terephthalate drivers are said to deliver exceptional sound, enhanced by Nothing’s “Bass Enhance” algorithm for clear bass.

The earbuds are rumored to come with fairly large batteries, with each bud packing a 64mAh cell and the carrying case holding an additional 635mAh battery. This setup reportedly allows the buds to run for 8 hours on a single charge and a total of 30 hours with the case.
The report also mentions that each earbud weighs 8.1g and both the earbuds and the case are IP54 splash-proof. There is no mention of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) on the buds, which is to be expected from open-style earphones. However, they do retain ChatGPT support when paired with a Nothing Phone, a feature we’ve seen on Nothing’s other audio products.

There’s still a lot we don’t know, such as how much the Nothing Ear (Open) will cost and if they’ll be available in colors other than the white shown in these leaked renders. All these questions will likely be answered once Nothing officially announces these earbuds later today.
