OPPO has officially confirmed that ColorOS 16, its next-generation operating system based on Android 16, will launch on October 15, 2025. The announcement was made ahead of the company’s annual Developer Conference in Shenzhen, China, with a simultaneous global rollout. This confirmation aligns with our earlier leak.

A teaser revealed several notable UI enhancements. These include flexible new app sizes (1×2, 2×1, 2×2) for improved home screen customization, a refreshed notification style for better readability and interaction, an updated sidebar layout now supporting a single-column view, a new app drawer for easier navigation, and upgraded system-wide animations for smoother transitions.
At the event, OPPO should detail additional features beyond those teased.
Find X9 Series Launch Date Also Confirmed
Immediately following the software launch, OPPO will introduce the Find X9 series on October 16. The lineup includes the standard Find X9 and the premium OPPO Find X9 Pro models, both powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset. These devices will come with ColorOS 16 pre-installed.

The design of the OPPO Find X9 has been revealed in the launch teaser, confirming the square camera layout, similar to the Reno14 Pro. It has the Hasselblad logo and a triple camera array on the back. There’s also an elongated flash to the right.

Globally (including India), ColorOS 15 is expected to launch on the same day. The Fine X9 series is expected at a later date, that is on October 26 as per our previous leak. The Indian launch of the Find X9 series is mostly slated for November 2025.
