TL;DR

  • One UI 7.0’s camera continuity feature requires the devices to share the login credentials.
  • Further, the feature also supports copying and pasting text, images, or files on their phone, tablet, or PC.

The One UI 7.0 update will bring many new features to eligible Samsung devices, including camera continuity. According to a report by Android Authority, the software update will bring a new camera continuity feature that will help users capture a picture on their Ga|axy smartphone and access it on another Galaxy device.

All The Galaxy Devices Must Be Logged In To The Same Samsung Account

One UI 7.0

The report mentions that the feature will work with Samsung’s browser and notes app. However, there’s a prerequisite to using the feature. Users must log in on all their Galaxy devices with one Samsung account. In other words, One UI 7.0’s camera continuity feature requires the devices to share the login credentials. They also need to be within Bluetooth range of each other and share a Wi-Fi connection.

“Take pictures and scan documents or handwriting on your phone or tablet, then continue working on them on another device such as a tablet or computer,” reads the description of the feature. As seen in the screenshot, the feature lets users continue working in the Samsung Notes and Samsung Internet apps “by tapping the button that appears on the Recents screen.”

One UI 7.0 To Improve Cross-Device Connectivity

Further, the feature also supports copying and pasting text, images, or files on their phone, tablet, or PC. The publication mentions coming across the feature on the Galaxy S24. However, given that the feature isn’t available on another Galaxy device, it can’t be put to test here.

Moreover, One UI 7.0 will bring a lot of upgrades to cross-device connectivity, something that Apple excels at. A similar feature already exists in Apple’s ecosystem, which allows users to use their iPhone as a web camera for their MacBook. While users can also copy and paste text and images on any device, they can also connect AirPods with multiple Apple devices at once.
