TL; DR
- Early One UI 9 leaks suggest Samsung is working on a cleaner interface with less visual clutter and smoother animations.
- The update may also bring AI photo editing suggestions, a redesigned About phone page, and refined Settings interactions.
- One UI 9 is expected to arrive with Android 17 later in 2026.
Samsung’s next big software update has now started showing up through early leaks, and it looks like One UI 9 is focusing more on polish than big changes. Based on details shared by SammyGuru, Samsung seems to be refining the interface, improving animations, and adding smarter tools in places people use every day.
One of the clearer changes is inside the About phone section in Settings. The older layout used a large device image that took up a lot of space. In the leaked version, that graphic is much smaller and moved to the top-left corner. This gives more room for important information like device name, model number, serial number, and IMEI details, making the page easier to read quickly.

Samsung is also updating the built-in photo editor. The leaked version shows floating AI suggestion buttons above the normal editing controls. These suggestions can recommend quick edits based on the photo you are working on, such as removing distractions or adjusting colors. The idea seems to be faster editing without needing to search through multiple menus.

Even smaller interactions are getting attention. The Settings search bar is said to include new elastic-style animations when it opens or closes. Instead of a stiff transition, the motion looks softer and more responsive. These kinds of small animation changes can make the whole system feel smoother during regular use.

The bigger direction here looks pretty clear. Samsung seems to be removing some unnecessary clutter while keeping the features One UI is known for. So the software could feel cleaner and easier to use without losing customization, multitasking, or the extra tools people like.
These are still early leaks, so things can change before launch. One UI 9 is expected to be based on Android 17 and could launch around July 2026 with Samsung’s next foldables. The stable update should come later in the year after the beta phase starts.
