OnePlus working on a compact flagship smartphone: Might be called OnePlus 13 Mini or 13T

OnePlus is poised to conduct its ‘Winter Launch Event’ today in India, where the company will unveil its next generation of flagship devices. The OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, and the latest iteration of TWS Buds are set to be introduced this evening. Additionally, it appears that OnePlus is looking to expand the OnePlus 13 lineup. Reports suggest that the company is developing a compact flagship smartphone, which may be released later this year. This smaller variant could potentially be named the OnePlus 13 Mini or the OnePlus 13T. While OnePlus has yet to provide official confirmation, reputable leaker Digital Chat Station has shared some insights regarding the OnePlus 13 Mini.

OnePlus 13 Mini/13T: Details leaked

Earlier some reports claimed that OnePlus will announce a compact flagship device that will belong to the Ace 5 series. Now latest leaks from DGC claims indicate that the mysterious smartphone is internally referred to as part of the numbered series. Considering it will be a high-positioning and compact one, the tipster claims that it might debut as Othe nePlus 13T or OnePlus 13 Mini, a mini standing for the compact form factor.

The tipster further claims that the OnePlus 13 Mini will get a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED panel with narrow bezels and a 1.5K resolution. The screen will also support an in-screen fingerprint sensor.

In terms of camera, the OnePlus 13 Mini might get a 50MP Sony IMX906 main camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, and 50MP periscope telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. The tipster isn’t sure about whether the final version will have the same camera specifications or not.

OnePlus 13 Mini is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset similar to the OnePlus 13. In terms of design, the Mini model is said to have a metal middle frame and a glass back. Other specs are still shrouded in mystery.

Will OnePlus 13 Mini be similar to the Oppo Find X8 Mini?

Recently, there were rumors about Oppo adding the Find X8 Mini version to its flagship series. Now this news about the OnePlus 13 Mini raises curiosity about whether there will be a similarity between the two Mini smartphones.

The tipster claims that the OnePlus 13 Mini will be different from the Oppo Find X8 mini in terms of chipset and camera setup. Oppo Find X8 mini is expected to be powered by Dimensity 9400 chipset and feature a 50MP+50MP camera setup at the back, while the third sensor might also be 50MP as well.
