TL; DR
  • The OnePlus 15 is shaping up as a performance-first flagship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, up to 16 GB RAM, 1 TB storage, and one of the largest batteries ever seen on a flagship phone.
  • It will feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 165 Hz adaptive refresh rate, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and a triple 50 MP camera system tuned with LUMO.
  • OxygenOS 16 will debut on the device with more AI features and improved design and smoothness.

The OnePlus 13 brought several meaningful upgrades but also introduced some downgrades, especially with cameras. Now, the OnePlus 15 seems to be positioned as a performance-first flagship with a focus on gaming and battery life.

With 165 Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset, and one of the largest batteries ever in a mainstream flagship, it is clear that OnePlus is trying something different this time. Let’s take a look at the OnePlus 15’s full specs, expected pricing, and launch date.

Display

OnePlus 13

The display is one of the biggest talking points. The OnePlus 15 is rumored to feature a 6.78-inch flat LTPO OLED with 1.5K resolution (2772 x 1240). The refresh rate will reportedly scale from 1 Hz to 165 Hz, which is even higher than the 144 Hz panels on most gaming phones and well above the 120 Hz standard seen in most flagships.

Combined with LIPO tech for slimmer bezels and improved brightness efficiency, this should make the display smoother and more immersive than anything we’ve seen from OnePlus before. An ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display is also expected, just like the OnePlus 13. No quad-curved screen this time.

Performance and Hardware

At its core, the OnePlus 15 will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (or 8 Elite Gen 5 as per the latest leak), paired with the Adreno 840 GPU. Storage options could reach up to 1 TB with UFS 4.1 speeds, while up to 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM.

According to leaks, AnTuTu scores could exceed 4 million, which is wild since the current 8 Elite scores around 2.8 million. This is also one of the few flagships rumored to combine high refresh rate gaming with such a large battery capacity, underlining the performance-first approach.

Cameras

The camera setup may take a slightly different direction compared to the OnePlus 13. Current leaks suggest a less capable camera setup with a smaller telephoto sensor.

  • Sony LYT-700 main (1/1.56-inch with OIS)
  • Samsung JN5 ultra-wide (1/2.76-inch)
  • Samsung JN5 telephoto (3X periscope, 1/2.76-inch)

On the front, we’re expecting a 50 MP camera with autofocus this time. Oh, and the telephoto might support telemacro this time. OnePlus is expected to end its partnership with Hasselblad and replace it with its new LUMO imaging engine for processing.

The design is also said to shift from the circular modules of the past to a square camera island positioned at the upper-left corner, in line with recent leaks. This will make it look similar to the recently launched OnePlus 13s (review).

Battery and Charging

One of the highlights of the OnePlus 15 is its huge battery. Rumors suggest a capacity between 7,000 and 7,800 mAh, with 7,300 mAh being the most commonly cited figure. Despite the larger size, charging speeds are expected to remain impressive at 100W wired and 50W wireless.

Design and Build

The phone is said to weigh around 215g, balancing its large battery with a relatively slim profile. It will feature a flat-edged metal frame, rounded corners, IP68/69 ratings, and dual speakers. Another notable change is the replacement of the Alert Slider with the new “Plus Key.” Color options at launch could include Black, Purple, and Titanium.

Software: OxygenOS 16

OxygenOS 15

The software story is equally important here. The OnePlus 15 will ship with OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16, which is expected to be a major upgrade over OxygenOS 15. The update will likely be revealed in just a few weeks, and leaks suggest OnePlus is aiming for a much-improved software experience.
