Following the New York release, OnePlus has released their latest flagship device, OnePlus 6T in an event in New Delhi. India has emerged to be one of the major markets for OnePlus and the company has managed to capture a staggering 40% share in the Indian Premium smartphone segment.

Riding high on the success, OnePlus had planned to launch their new device in India simultaneously with the Global launch on 30th this month. But due to clash with Apple’s press event, the company had to move their launch prior by a day in New York. The Indian launch, however, concluded today.

OnePlus 6T Features

The new OnePlus 6T sports a slightly larger 6.41-inch AMOLED screen(19.5:9) with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080) resolution owing to the waterdrop notch and a slight trimming of the bottom chin which leaves more room for display. The display is also protected by Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass 6 which is claimed to be twice as strong as the earlier version. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 Octa-core chipset bolstered with Adreno 630. This time around the base variant of OnePlus comes with a RAM of 6GB and an internal storage of 128GB while there are 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variant options as well.

OnePlus 6T has the same camera hardware of OnePlus 6 but the company claims to have made several tweaks on the software front. On the rear, we have a 16MP + 20MP f/1.7 aperture dual camera setup supported by an LED flash. The rear camera module on this new handset is equipped with features like Nightscape, enhanced HDR mode and super slow motion video capture. On the front, we have a similar 16MP selfie camera which also got its fair share of enhancements from software.

6T houses a significantly larger 3700 mAh battery which should be able to make the device last longer than any of the recent past OnePlus flagships. The device also supports OnePlus Fast Charge which implies that we need not worry about the charging time of this device.

Next major update with this device is the use of in-display fingerprint sensor by ditching the widely used capacitive sensor. This new sensor is claimed to be the fastest in the world among in-display fingerprint sensors but it is still not quite as fast as the capacitive sensors. The phone comes out of the box with the latest Android Pie based OxygenOS which is expected to give the usual breezy experience.
