TL; DR
  • vivo has reportedly started preparing the X Fold 6 soon after the X300s and X300 Ultra launch.
  • A new leak from Digital Chat Station claims the foldable could bring a 200MP camera, a rated 6,760mAh battery with around 7,000mAh typical capacity, updated design changes, and new accessories.
  • China is expected to get the first launch, with India likely later.

vivo has just finished launching the X300s and X300 Ultra, and attention now seems to be shifting toward its next foldable. According to a new post from Digital Chat Station on Weibo, early details of the upcoming vivo X Fold 6 have now started to appear.

200MP Main Camera

The biggest highlight from the leak is a 200MP main camera. While the post does not name the exact sensor, current expectations suggest vivo could use the same large 200MP unit seen in the vivo X300 (review). That would bring flagship-level camera hardware to the company’s next book-style foldable.

7,000mAh Dual-Cell Battery

Battery capacity is also getting attention. The leaked figures mention a rated 6,760mAh battery with around 7,000mAh typical capacity. A dual-cell setup is listed, with cells rated at 3,915mAh and 2,845mAh. If this remains unchanged for the final product, X Fold 6 could feature the biggest battery on any foldable yet.

50MP Periscope

The leak also mentions a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera that supports telemacro shooting. We think it may use a similar setup to the X300 and X300s, including close focusing support around 15cm.

Possible Teleconverter Support?

Beyond cameras and battery, Digital Chat Station also mentions a new ID design and fresh accessories. That likely means visual changes to the hardware along with an expanded accessory ecosystem. Since vivo has recently been pushing teleconverters, there is already speculation that similar accessories could reach the foldable line as well.

The phone is expected to use a flagship Snapdragon platform, which could be the Snapdragon 8 Elite or maybe the 8 Elite Gen 5 too. We don’t know yet. There are also minor adjustments to the “screen design.”

vivo X Fold 6 Release Date

As of now, the first release is expected in China, which is typical for vivo’s foldables. An India launch could follow later if vivo continues expanding its foldable devices outside China.
