TL; DR
- A Geekbench leak confirms the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 for the OnePlus Nord 5 with scores of 1977/5090.
- Camera upgrades and a 144 Hz display are rumored; the design is to follow the OnePlus Ace 5 Extreme from China, as confirmed in the official teaser.
- Launch tipped for July 8 alongside Nord CE 5 (Dimensity 8350).
The OnePlus Nord 5 is shaping up to be quite an interesting mid-ranger this year. A new Geekbench listing for the device (model number CPH2707) has now surfaced online, confirming some of its key specifications. As per the listing, the phone manages to score 1977 in single-core and 5090 in multi-core tests. What’s more important is that the configuration matches that of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
This is a notable upgrade on paper, especially because last year’s OnePlus Nord 4 shipped with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. And while both chipsets are quite close in terms of real-world performance, the jump to 8s Gen 3 still brings slightly better efficiency and performance. Many were expecting OnePlus to go for something even more powerful like the Dimensity 9400e or even the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, but that doesn’t seem to be happening this time.

With the chipset now more or less confirmed, it looks like OnePlus may be focusing on other areas to differentiate the Nord 5. The biggest upgrades could come on the camera front, though details are still a bit scarce. There are also rumors suggesting that the device might ship with a 144 Hz refresh rate display, which would be another welcome upgrade.

On the design side, the OnePlus Nord 5 will use the same design as the OnePlus Ace 5 Extreme from China, adopting the newer design language seen on the OnePlus 13s and OnePlus Pad 3. This was officially confirmed in the teaser shared by the brand on its official Twitter handle.
The launch date is tipped for July 8, according to leaks floating on the internet. Alongside the Nord 5, the company is also expected to launch the OnePlus Nord CE 5, which could come powered by the Dimensity 8350 chipset.
