After several rumors and reports, OnePlus has finally unveiled the Watch 2 at MWC 2024. It is the brand’s first wearable that runs on Wear OS out of the box and provides access to plenty of Android-based apps via the Play Store. Some key highlights of the smartwatch include up to 12-day battery life and military-grade durability. Here’s everything you need to know about the new wearable.

The OnePlus Watch 2 carries several durability accolades. For instance, the wearable has been tested to pass the MIL-STD-810H military standard for extreme environmental conditions. Further, the watch also has a 5ATM water resistance and an IP68 water and dust resistance rating.

With the ratings and the stainless steel chassis, the smartwatch is one of the most durable models. On the smartwatch, users get 80 downloadable and 20 custom OnePlus watch faces. Further, it will be available in two colors, including Black Steel and Radiant Steel.

Out of the box, the OnePlus Watch 2 has a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. The circular display supports a refresh rate of 60Hz and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, making it easy to view under direct sunlight or in brightly lit environments. The display is protected with a 2.5D sapphire crystal.

Under the hood, the smartwatch runs on the Snapdragon W5 SoC, which handles the Wear OS 4 apps. With Google’s operating system, the smartwatch can run apps like Google Assistant, Maps, Play Store, and more. Further, it also has a BES2700 chipset that handles background activity. Interestingly, the OnePlus Watch 2 allows users to switch between Wear OS and RTOS, based on their preference.

Supporting the chipsets is 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. For health and fitness monitoring, the smartwatch features an optical heart rate sensor, a pulse oximeter, and algorithms for tracking users’ sleep cycles and stress levels. It supports more than 100 sports modes, including indoor and outdoor workouts and 11 professional sports tracking.

Connectivity options on the smartwatch include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, L1+L5 GPS, and a USB Type-C port. One of the most aggressively advertised features of the OnePlus Watch 2 is its 500 mAh battery. It lasts up to 12 days in power saving mode, about four days in Smart Mode, and up to two days on heavy usage. With the watch, users get a 22mm watchband.

The smartwatch will be available in India for Rs. 24,999. It will be available to purchase from March 4, 2024, via known retailers such as Flipkart, Amazon, Reliance Digital, Croma, and OnePlus’ online store.
