Oppo Reno 3, Reno 3 Pro with 5G, Quad Cameras and Android 10 based ColorOS 7 go official

After weeks of teasers and buzz around the web, Oppo Reno 3 series has officially debuted in China. Although Oppo Reno 3 and the Reno 3 Pro came shortly before the new year, they are 5G ready. Other highlights include quad rear cameras, a 32-megapixel selfie snapper and the latest Android 10 based ColorOS 7. While the base model adopts MediaTek chipset, the Pro variant picks side with Snapdragon.

Oppo vaunts the camera capabilities of these phones. So, without any further ado, come let’s have a look at all its features including the cameras.

Oppo Reno 3 Features

While talking about the Pro variant, the first thing to note is the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L chipset. This is the first time we are seeing this chip inside a handset. The chip grants Dual-mode 5G support. The internals also contains 128GB storage and up to 12GB RAM. Oppo has slapped the Android 10 based ColorOS 7 on top of this hardware.

Coming to surface, let’s start with its rear, where it bears a quad-camera setup. The main sensor is a 64MP shooter, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, a 2MP macro lens and lastly, a 2MP mono lens. On the front side, you get a 32MP selfie camera nesting within a waterdrop notch.

Reno 3 runs on a 4025mAh power source backed by a 30W VOOC fast charger. Rest, you get an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, Dolby Atmos sound, NFC, USB-C port amongst other things.

Oppo Reno 3 Pro: What’s the uptick here?

The cream of the crop is, however, the Reno 3 Pro. Although the display properties stay the same for the most part, the clear difference is that the punch-hole camera on the top-left corner. This one is engined by a Snapdragon 765G chipset. It packs up to 12GB RAM coupled with up to 256GB storage.

The leader in the rear quartet is weirdly a smaller 48-megapixel sensor. However, herein you get periscope zooming capability. This is thanks to a 13MP telephoto lens that supports 5x optical zoom and 20x hybrid zoom. The camera setup is completed by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP mono lens.

The rest of the specs and features remain the same between the two.

Oppo Reno 3 Pro, Reno 3 Price, and Availability

Oppo has introduced both phones in Moonlight White, Moonlight Black, Bluestarry Night, and Sunrise Impression colors. Apart from this, the Pro variant is up for grabs in the Classic Blue version christened Pantone 2020.

While the 8GB RAM plus 256GB storage variant of Reno 3 Pro is offered at a price of 3,999 yuan, the higher 12GB RAM plus 256GB storage model asks a price of 4,499 yuan. Besides, the classic blue color 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at 4,199 yuan.

On the other hand, the 8GB + 128GB variant of Reno 3 has been launched in China at a price of 3,399 yuan, while the 12GB + 128GB variant costs 3,699 yuan.

Both phones will be available for sale from December 31, save for the 256GB storage variant, which will hit the store on January 10. Oppo hasn’t spilled details on the Indian availability.
