OnePlus has announced OxygenOS 16 globally on October 16, 2025, and it’s coming soon to the OnePlus Pad series with tailored features that transform the tablet experience. The Pad, Pad 2, Pad Lite, and Pad 3 are fully eligible, and stable builds will begin rolling out in phases from November 2025, following flagship phones. Tablets aren’t part of the beta program yet, but OnePlus has confirmed that support is on the way.
Built on the principle of “Intelligently Yours,” OxygenOS 16 turns the Pad into a more capable productivity hub with major upgrades in multitasking, design, connectivity, and AI tools. Some features like Plus Mind remain phone-exclusive, but you do get most of the AI features here.
New Design, Revamped Home Screen, and More Lock Screen Customization

The update brings a refreshed “Breath with You” interface, with rounded corners, Gaussian blur, and live weather animations that react to real conditions. This design can be seen in the Photos app, lock screen passcode screen, calculator, and several system apps.

The expanded dock now holds up to 18 apps, and a brand-new flexible home screen layout lets you scale icons and fit more apps. Speaking of, there are a lot of icon packs to choose from, including a brand-new icon pack with the new design.

The new Flux Theme 2.0 lets you use Motion Photos, video wallpapers, and AI-based font and text recommendations. The Intelligent Fluid Cloud hub surfaces live alerts for commutes, deliveries, sports, and media controls, while hidden Easter eggs like “Never Settle” messages add fun details. (Lock screen widgets aren’t supported yet.)

Supercharged Multitasking and Performance
OxygenOS 16 introduces Open Canvas Multitasking, letting you run up to five apps simultaneously—three in split view and two as floating windows. You can resize apps with simple gestures and switch between them.

A Dynamic Island-style notification area called Fluid Cloud (Live Alerts) is also here with better functionality now. It can show current media playback (including YouTube), sports, battery saver, etc.

The sidebar has also been updated, allowing you to choose from a 1-column or 2-column sidebar. The animations of it have also been improved, plus you can now hide the app labels in the sidebar. OnePlus’ Lab tests showed no lag even after three hours of intensive multitasking, including social media and high-frame-rate gaming.

Cross-Ecosystem Connectivity (including Apple Ecosystem)
OxygenOS 16 improves multi-device connectivity. You can control your Windows PC from the Pad with a virtual trackpad and drag and drop files seamlessly. With O+ Connect, you can manage files, sync notifications, mirror screens, and share clipboards with a Mac.

The tablet now integrates with iPhone and Apple Watch. Simply bump devices to share media, or use the OHealth app for notifications, calls, health data, camera controls, and “Find My Phone.”
You can also mirror your phone screen on the Pad, sync files, and use Touch Interactions for two-way transfers between devices.

More AI and a Video Editor
Although Plus Mind isn’t available on tablets, Gemini AI powers smarter tools and deeper personalization. A dedicated AI section in settings includes several AI features.

You can use AI Writer to craft social media posts or emails, AI Scan for document digitization, and AI Recorder for real-time transcription, summaries, and speaker identification.

AI Creativity tools like AI Portrait Glow, AI Perfect Shot, and AI Relight enhance photos, while AI PlayLab experiments with features like YumSee (menu translations) and Party Up (turning photos into videos).

The built-in Photos app now includes video editing tools, like trim clips, add music or captions, apply filters, and even convert videos into Live Photos.

Security and Privacy
Private Computing Cloud secures sensitive tasks with GPU and CPU protection while maintaining performance. Plus Lock Protection offers multi-layer encryption, remote locking, and two-factor authentication (available on select devices, with tablet compatibility varying by model).
