Poco M3 Pro has been announced as an upgrade to the original. To justify the Pro moniker, the phone sports a 7nm Dimensity 700 chipset, a faster 90Hz display, 5G support, and a radical design. The noticeable downgrade is, however, its 5000mAh battery.

Poco M3 Pro 5G Features

This new Poco phone shares about the same display as the standard model, but has got 90Hz refresh smoothness. Not just that, the panel supports “DynamicSwitch” between 30Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz depending on the on-screen content. Within the punch-hole resides an 8MP snapper with f2.0 aperture and 1080p@30fps video record option. On the flipside, there is a similar 48MP primary f/1.8 aperture coupled with a 2MP macro and 2MP depth shooter. You get a 4K30fps video option though.

Inside, the phone is running on Android 11 based MIUI 12 laid on top of MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. This 7 nm-based octa-core chipset is much powerful than the 11nm Snapdragon 662 inside the vanilla Poco M3. Other internals in the mix is Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.2 ROM (which is further expandable).

Poco bundles a 22.5W charger, although the phone’s 5000mAh battery support 18W fast charging only. The rest of the repertoire comprises dual-mode 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, IR blaster, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, Hi-Res audio, and USB Type-C port.
