Your next security camera might be a lot smarter, and it won’t need an internet connection to think. CP PLUS, the Indian video security and surveillance camera brand you see in almost every Indian office building, is teaming up with Qualcomm to overhaul how surveillance works in the country.
The two companies just announced a partnership to put Qualcomm’s Dragonwing processors and Insight Platform directly into CP PLUS cameras. The goal? To move video analysis from the cloud to the “edge.”
In plain English, this means the cameras won’t just record footage and send it to a server farm to be analyzed later. Instead, the camera itself (or a small box next to it) will process the data instantly. It can detect a blocked fire exit, a crowd crush, or a safety violation in milliseconds because the “brain” is right there on the device.

Why “Edge AI” Matters
This isn’t just about faster alerts. It’s a privacy and bandwidth play. By processing video locally (what techies call an “air-gapped” architecture), sensitive footage doesn’t necessarily have to leave the building.
“AI is redefining the future of security, moving video surveillance from passive recording to intelligent, real-time decision support,” said Aditya Khemka, Managing Director at CP PLUS.
The system will also feature a Generative AI assistant—basically a chatbot for security guards. Instead of rewatching hours of footage to find “the guy in the red hat,” a guard could theoretically just type that query and get the clip instantly.
When will these Qualcomm-powered CP PLUS Hit Stores?
This rollout is timed to hit the market in Q1 2026, aligning heavily with the Indian government’s “India AI Mission.” Abhishek Singh, CEO of the India AI Mission, called the partnership a milestone for the country’s AI readiness.
For Qualcomm, it’s another sign that the company wants its chips in everything, not just your smartphone. For CP PLUS, it’s a bid to modernize India’s massive, often aging, surveillance infrastructure with tech that feels genuinely futuristic.
