TL; DR
  • The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 delivers a 36% faster CPU and 59% faster GPU than the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3.
  • It’s based on a 4nm process with support for 144 Hz FHD+ gaming and 200 MP photo capture.
  • It still does not support 4K video recording, remaining capped at 2K HDR at 30 FPS, the same as both the 6s Gen 3 and 6 Gen 3.
  • Connectivity includes 5G Release 16, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and Quick Charge 4+, with first phones from realme, Xiaomi, POCO, OPPO, and vivo expected in Q4 2025.

Qualcomm has quietly released the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 (SM6435-AA), a 4nm refresh of its mid-range lineup that improves efficiency and gaming performance while keeping multimedia capabilities unchanged. The new chip replaces the 6s Gen 3, which itself was a lightly tuned version of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 built on 6nm.

Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Specs

The 4nm manufacturing process allows for lower power consumption and better thermal performance without changing the core configuration. The CPU clocks still peak at 2.4 GHz, but Qualcomm claims 36% faster processing and a 59% improvement in graphics.

The updated Adreno GPU now supports 144 Hz refresh rates at FHD+ resolution and adds Variable Rate Shading and Game Quick Touch, features missing in the 6s Gen 3.

Camera specs remain the same. The chip supports up to 200 MP photo capture and 2K HDR video at 30 FPS, with no 4K video recording. Other image processing features such as MFNR (Multi-Frame Noise Reduction) and Zero Shutter Lag are unchanged.

Connectivity upgrades are modest but present. The 6s Gen 4 supports 5G Release 16 with peak downlink speeds of 2.9 Gbps, along with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 (up from 5.2), and Quick Charge 4+.

Storage and memory standards have improved, with support for LPDDR5X RAM at 3200 MHz and UFS 3.1 replacing the older DDR4X memory standard.

Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Smartphones

Despite these updates, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 remains a minor evolutionary step in Qualcomm’s 6-series lineup. The first smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 are expected to launch in Q4 2025, likely from brands including realme, Xiaomi, POCO, OPPO, and vivo, targeting the sub-₹20,000 price range.
