Qualcomm’s First Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders goes official

Qualcomm has a community of its own fans with more than 1.6 million ‘Snapdragon Insiders’ who participate in online forums and are the first to know about the big news related to the brand. For these present and prospective loyalists, Qualcomm has launched a unique smartphone named “Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders” in partnership with Asus.

If you don’t like OEM brands controlling performance and experience for various reasons, this Snapdragon Insider phone vaunts to offer the full stock performance. As such, Snapdragon 888 chipset on this smartphone will be running at the max clock speed. Even the rest of its specs are interesting. Take a look:

Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders

The Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders has a 6.78-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. You also get the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on screen. Also, the camera on the front is placed in the upper bezel. There is neither a punch-hole cutout nor a notch here.

The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. There is Android 11 software on top.

Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders has triple rear cameras that are arranged in a horizontal line. The main camera is a 64MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The other sensors are a 12MP ultrawide lens and the third 8MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom. Videography can go up to 8K30 fps. The selfie camera in the phone will come with a 24MP resolution. You will also find Qualcomm’s AI software on camera with which auto-zoom and object tracking can be done.

The phone has a 2nd generation 3D sonic sensor from Qualcomm at the back. According to the company, it was not compatible with the given display, so it was not installed behind the phone.

The phone runs on a 4000mAh battery with 65W fast charging. The cell size doesn’t match with current standards. Anyways, you get Quick Charge 5.0 which claims up to 70% phone charge in just 30 minutes and 0 to 100% in 50 minutes. Among other things, the phone also comes with Snapdragon Sound, all 5G bands, WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2

Though the specifications are very good, the price is still very high. The company has launched it at a price of $1,500 (approximately Rs 1,12,000). With the phone, you will get premium Master and Dynamic TWS earbuds, and a 65W charger. The phone will be launched by ASUS in China, Germany, UK, Japan, South Korea, and India.
