realme 16 Pro+ vs. vivo V60: Table of Contents

Choosing a premium mid-range smartphone in 2026 is all about balance. The realme 16 Pro+ and vivo V60 target the same segment but with different priorities. Realme leans heavily on standout hardware, offering a sharper display, a bigger battery, and a higher-resolution main camera. At the same time, vivo focuses on a slimmer design, refined cameras, and long-term software support.

With both phones powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, the real differences lie in the overall experience. This comparison breaks down how they differ across design, display, performance, software, cameras, and pricing.

First, let’s discuss how the two phones look. The new realme 16 Pro+ features the company’s “Urban Wild Design,” blending natural textures with a contemporary aesthetic. The smartphone features a punch-hole front screen with symmetrical bezels on all sides (91% screen-to-body ratio) and a glossy metallic rear camera module on an otherwise plain panel.

The vivo V60 also features a punch-hole screen at the front, but its bezels are slightly thicker (88.1% screen-to-body ratio). On the back, the phone features a more vibrant finish, especially in Moonlit Blue, with a vertical camera module (housing two sensors) and another flush sensor.

Between the two phones, the vivo V60 is noticeably slimmer (and a tad lighter). However, the realme 16 Pro+ should feel more premium in the hand, thanks to its aluminum frame. Both phones feature a dual IP rating, which instills confidence in the overall build quality.

Between the two phones, the realme 16 Pro+ has the larger, brighter, and sharper display. The handset also supports a higher peak refresh rate (144Hz vs. 120Hz). Even in terms of dimming and typical brightness, the realme mid-ranger does better.

However, that doesn’t mean the vivo V60 has an inferior display by any means. It also delivers a flagship-level display with an AMOLED panel, 120Hz refresh rate, and 5,000 nits of peak brightness. Both phones support HDR10+ brightness.

Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (4nm) chipset. It comprises an eight-core CPU with a 1+3+4 configuration, the Adreno 722 GPU (which delivers 30% faster graphics rendering than the 7 Gen 3), and the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU for on-device AI processing. Hence, you should expect similar day-to-day performance from both phones.

However, there’s one clear difference between the two phones. The realme 16 Pro+ features LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, both of which are faster than the LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Hence, the realme 16 Pro+ should be slightly faster at loading apps and video games from storage and at booting up.

Both phones provide similar connectivity options, though (including Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.4, and USB Type-C).

Out of the box, the realme 16 Pro+ runs on realme UI 7.0, which is based on Android 16. It features a light glass design (inspired by iOS 26), Ice Cube icons, a misty glass control center, Flux Theme 2.0, a multitasking sideband, and plenty of AI-based features, including AI Notify Brief, AI Framing Master, and AI Gaming Coach.

The user interface is also compatible with iPhone and Apple Watch models. The company has also promised three years of operating system updates and four years of security updates, which is decent but still falls short of the best in the segment (six or seven years on Samsung smartphones).

OriginOS 6

At launch, the vivo V60 ran on Funtouch OS 15, which was based on Android 15. However, most recently, the phone transitioned into OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 in November-December 2025. The user interface also features a Liquid Glass-inspired design, an Origin Smooth Engine, and AI-powered tools, including advanced search and contextual actions.

Vivo’s software update policy remains superior to the realme 16 Pro+, as the company provides four years of major operating system updates and six years of security updates (a first for Vivo at the time).

Between the realme 16 Pro+ and vivo V60, the former features a 200MP primary camera, featuring four times the resolution of the vivo V60. Further, the phone can record 4K videos at 60 fps.

realme 16 Pro roundup

However, the vivo V60 features a larger 50MP periscope camera with a slightly shorter zoom range (3x vs. 3.5x). The same trend continues with the ultrawide camera: both phones have an 8MP ultrawide sensor, but the realme 16 Pro+ features a 1/4.0″ sensor, while the vivo V60 has a larger 1/2.76″ sensor.

Anyway, the realme handset can also capture 4K60 videos, while the vivo V60 is limited to 4K30.

The realme 16 Pro+ features a larger 7,000 mAh battery that should outlast the 6,500 mAh battery on the vivo V60. Even so, both phones can last an entire day on a single charge without causing any issues. However, between the two, the vivo V60 would surely charge faster.

realme 16 Pro+ vs. vivo V60: Price & Conclusion

realme 16 Pro+ Price

realme 16 Pro+ reivew

The realme 16 Pro+ makes a strong case for itself as a performance-focused upper mid-ranger, primarily due to its better display, larger battery, and a 200MP primary camera that supports 4K60 video. That said, the phone isn’t without compromises. Charging speeds lag behind some competitors; the software update policy is merely average for the price; and the plastic back detracts from the otherwise premium in-hand feel.

The handset will be available in India starting on January 9, 2026, via Flipkart.

vivo V60 Price

vivo v60

The vivo V60 stands out as a well-rounded premium mid-range contender with balanced strengths across design, display, performance, and software support. Those familiar with vivo smartphones or OriginOS can opt for this phone without hesitation. It is also the more affordable option, as the 256GB variant costs Rs. 3,000 less than the realme 16 Pro+, and the performance compromise might not be noticeable enough for regular users.
