Realme has announced the arrival of its next 5G smartphone in India dubbed Realme 8 5G. Interestingly, the phone will be equipped with the new MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G SoC. It is set to launch on April 22 at 12:30 PM.

Realme is extending Realme’s 8-lineup with a 5G variant. The company has previously launched Realme 8 (review) and Realme 8 Pro (review) in March. This time, Realme is employing the budget-grade MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset for 5G support. With this, Realme 8 5G will become the first device in India to get Dimensity 700.

The Realme 8 5G could come as the cheapest 5G phone in India to date although the company hasn’t made any such revelations yet. Moreover, there are rumors that the Chinese brand could also announce Realme 8i at the Realme 8 5G launch event.

The Realme 8 5G is expected to boast design specifications similar to its 4G siblings. The upcoming phone could also share the same imaging features as the standard models.
