TL; DR
  • realme now confirms the P3, P3 Pro, and P3 Ultra will also get 3 major Android OS updates and 4 years of security patches.
  • realme previously upgraded the Number series to a 3+4 policy, covering the realme 14 Pro+, 14 Pro, 14T, 15 Pro, and 15.
  • The realme P4 series is coming soon, with promotions already underway and a launch scheduled for 20 August.

realme has doubled down on longer software support across multiple product lines. Following an earlier announcement that moved the Number, Number Pro, and Number T series (including the realme 14 Pro+14 Pro14T15 Pro, and 15) from a 2+3 policy to a 3+4 policy, the company has confirmed the same commitment for the P3 family.

The P3, P3 Pro, and P3 Ultra will now receive three major Android updates and four years of regular security patches. The company says it doesn’t want to “forget 3 million users” of the existing P series, ensuring they get the same extended support as newer models.

The upcoming realme P4 series, launching on 20 August, will debut with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and a dedicated GPU Hyper Vision AI chip. The phones are expected to deliver high-end performance at what realme calls an “unbeatable price,” further strengthening the brand’s presence in the competitive mid-range space.

In my view, this is a part of realme’s broader strategy to rebuild trust and reputation. By offering extended update cycles and trimming down its rather-confusing product lineup, the brand is showing a stronger commitment to its users. This could help realme re-establish itself in the competitive mid-range market.
