Realme has officially announced the launch of its latest smartphone, the Realme GT3, at MWC Barcelona. The phone boasts an impressive 240W SuperVOOC charging capability that can fully charge its 4,600mAh battery in a mere nine and a half minutes. This feature makes one wonder if there is such a thing as too fast when it comes to charging a phone.

Realme claims that the GT3’s 240W fast charging is the fastest possible for Type-C, outpacing the 210W-capable Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition and the 150W charging in OnePlus devices like the 10T. However, Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand is working on a new 300W fast-charging technology that may surpass Realme’s.

While 240W is an impressive number, the GT3’s charging speeds are not significantly faster than those of previous fast-charging phones. For instance, the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition could already charge its smaller 4,300mAh battery to 100% in about nine minutes using 210W fast charging. Additionally, the OnePlus 10T’s 150W fast charging could fully charge its 4,800mAh battery in under 20 minutes. Nevertheless, Realme claims that the GT3 can achieve a full charge in just nine and a half minutes.

The Realme GT3 is rebranded version of the GT Neo 5

The Realme GT 3 is a high-end smartphone that boasts an impressive array of features. It is equipped with a 6.74-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, which features a 144Hz refresh rate and a 2772 X 1240 pixels resolution, offering a vivid and clear visual experience. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4nm Mobile Platform with Adreno next-gen GPU, this phone comes in various storage options ranging from 8GB+128GB to 16GB+1TB.

The Realme GT 3 runs on the Android 13-based Realme UI custom skin out of the box and is fueled by a powerful 4600mAh battery, which supports 240W SuperVOOC fast charging. In addition, it comes with connectivity features such as 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data sync. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

This smartphone features a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP primary Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS and LED flash, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2MP microscope camera. It also has a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats.

The Realme GT 3 is designed for performance, with features such as Stainless Steel Vapor Cooling System Max 2.0, Pulse Interface Design, a dedicated display chipset, Tactile Engine, GT mode 4.0, Intelligent Infrared Remote Control, X-axis linear motor, and dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. The phone measures 163.85 X 75.75 X 8.9mm and weighs 199 grams.

Available in Pulse White and Booster Black colours, the Realme GT 3 is offered in various storage options, including 8+128GB, 12+256GB, 16+256GB, 16+512GB, and 16+1TB, with a starting price of $649 (around Rs 53,700) for the base 8GB + 128GB model. The phone is an excellent choice for those seeking a high-performance smartphone with impressive features and specifications.
