Redmi Smart TV line-up expanded with 2 new models starting at Rs 15,999 in India

Redmi, the sub-brand of Xiaomi has refreshed its Smart TV catalog with two new smart TV – the Redmi Smart TV 32-inch and Redmi Smart TV 43-inch. These Redmi TVs are claimed to bring “all-around entertainment” along with other premium features. New launches sit with other existing models like the Mi TV 5X series or Mi QLED TV series but are the first ones in the line-up to come with Android 11 built-in. Both the new launches are a part of the budget segment for Indian consumers.

Redmi Smart TVs Price & Availability

The 32-inch Redmi Smart TV is priced at Rs. 15,999 while the 43-inch Redmi Smart TV comes for Rs. 25,999. Both the Smart TVs are expected to be available during Diwali with Mi. They will be launched as a part of Amazon’s Great Indian Festival starting next month. Xiaomi is also expected to announce special discounts and other offer prices for its new launches before its first sale.

They will be available for purchase via Mi. com, Mi Home, Mi Studio, Amazon, and other offline retail stores across India. However, the dates of the sales when they will be available for purchase are yet to be revealed.

Redmi Smart TVs – Key Specs

Redmi Smart TV 32-inch

Both 32-inch and 43-inch models come with dual 20 W speakers with support for Dolby 5.1 Audio and DTS Virtual X and DTS HD for surround sound experience. TVs support Dolby Atmos Pass through ARC port. They have a Vivid Picture Engine (VPE) and some other software and hardware tweaks that offer accurate screen calibration. Both of them come with Patchwall 4 interface built on Android TV 11 and IMDB integration. They promise to provide 75+ free live channels and universal search across 30 OTT platforms.

As for the processor, they rely on a Quad Core A35 CPU assisted by Mali G31 MP2 GPU. They come with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. TVs have Google Assistant Voice Support with ‘Ok Google’ and a Chromecast built-in along with Play Store. Both of them come with 2 HDMI slots, out of which one supports ARC. Two USB 2.0 slots, an AV 3.5mm headphone jack, Ethernet, and an antenna port are also present.

Xiaomi has packed these new models with a new MI Remote that includes a Google Assistant Button and features like Quick Mute (that lets you mute by double-tapping the volume down key) and Quick Wake (which lets you help turn on the TV in less than 5 seconds). They also come with features like Universal Search, Kids Mode, and Language Universe. Kids Mode includes parental lock and a safe search for age-appropriate content.

Wireless connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v5.0. TVs have a Miracast app for casting Android devices to the screen. Auto Low Latency Mode claims to lower the latency rate when using TVs with a gaming console like Xbox or PSP.

Major Distinction between 32-inch & 43-inch models

Display and screen size is where the main difference between both the models lies. 32-inch Redmi Smart TV carries an HD display with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution whereas the 43-inch Redmi Smart TV has an FHD screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. Both claim to have 16 million colors. There is a slight difference between audio output too as the 32-inch model will give 20W audio output while the 43-inch one will have a 30W audio output.

Like all the other companies, Xiaomi is committed to giving back to the environment too. As a part of this pledge, Redmi Smart TV models come in an eco-friendly Eco-Packaging that can be transformed into a storing shelf or a cat house for use.
