Samsung reveals Exynos 850 Chipset details

Samsung Galaxy A21s is now available in South Korea and its the first phone to debut with Exynos 850 chipset. The entry-tier chipset from Samsung is based on the 8nm LLP fabrication process. Here are the details of the new Exynos mobile platform:

The Exynos 850 has 8 ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 2GHz and it isn’t compatible with next-generation 5G networks. The Exynos 850 includes ARM Mali-G52 GPU for graphics and is compatible with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage.

As for optics, the Exynos 850 can handle 21.7MP cameras at the front and back. If in case the manufacturer decides to include a dual-camera setup, the Exynos 850 can support a combination of up to 16 MP + 5 MP. It can also support video recording up to 1080p at 60fps and can drive Full HD+ or 2520 x 1080 resolution screens.

On the Connectivity side, Exynos 850 supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G LTE up to Cat.7 downlink, and Cat.13 uplink. It also supports FM radio.

The Exynos 850 is meant for affordable smartphones and we expect it to show up in Galaxy A and M-series entry segment phones in the coming months.
